Course Description

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN®) is designed for registerednurses interested in expanding their knowledge and skills in the management of trauma patients.The course design helps to establish standards of care and communication when caring for trauma patients. This 2 day course provides a comprehensive management of the injured patient. Specifically, the course is designedfor nurses working in aeromedical programs, Emergency Departments, Operating Rooms, Intensive Care Units and Medical/Surgical.

The Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses Course includes didactic presentations coupled with practical skill stations to demonstrate application of didactic information. The ATCN Course is taught concurrently with an approved Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) Course for physicians. Thus, physicians and nurses have the opportunity to share a common language and approach to trauma care. ATCN participants are provided both the ATLS Student Manual and the ATCN Student Manual.

Continuing Education Credit

STN is a licensed continuing education provider, approved by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing. Participants will be awarded up to 19 CEUs along with an ATCN ® course completion card upon successful completion of the course material.
