  • Gained a student – enrollment now 399
  • Pre K is down a little. Preschool and PreK are going good this year.
  • Room 17 is further along…insulation and drywall are up. Ready to level and tile the floor. Hoping to be complete the beginning of November
  • Special Person Day is coming soon
  • Student Council is in charge of:
  • Food Pantry Collection
  • Halloween Candy Collection
  • Red Ribbon Week
  • Internal Accreditation is beginning. Documents are being organized into files.
  • State testing (3rd reading readiness) and PSAT will be given to select students the week of October 25th.
  • EdChoice
  • Scholarship to students living in a failing public school districts.
  • EdChoice Expansion – for families at a certain income level. Can live in any district.
  • All EdChoice students will take the state tests.

  • Want to thank the PTO again for providing lunch again.

  • All School Rosary was on the 6th of October – lead by 8th grade
  • Begining preparations for Advent. Students will be packing Advent packets for the parishes
  • Presenter from Glenmary will be here to talk to 7th and 8th graders.
  • Students collected school supplies to donate.
  • Faith Family activities are being planned.

PastorsFr. Tim/Fr. Kyle

  • Last Thursday there was a presentation to the 2nd grade parents of Corpus Christi and SJN regarding empowering parents in dealing with pornography. January 25th Father Kyle will present the same presentation at the PTO meeting
  • Changes will be made to summer religious program. One week in the summer will be a program “TotusTuus” and then other religious activities throughout the year. Students of the parochial school will be able to attend too, space permitting. This is a new model in the dioceses
  • Sacrament preparation is under way
  • All Saint and All Souls Days are coming up (11/1 and 11/2)
  • This Sunday Spaghetti Dinner at Corpus Christi.
  • Want to make sure that the school updates are sent to the parishes for the bulletins.
  • Info on First Communion – SJN and Corpus Christi pick one weekend and families can pick any mass that weekend. SJB changed to allow children to make first communion during mass. Each parish determines the sacrament preparation for themselves.

  • Last Membership Meeting – 34 families attend

FinanceJason Tonne

  • Financial statement looks like we are on track.
  • Budgeted for 416 – so registration fees are down due to lower enrollment
  • There has not been an outreach to alumni for the Capital Campaign
  • $291,00 has been pledged almost $94,000 has been received
  • $223,000 has been spent to replace air and heat throughout the building.
  • Remaining capital collection will be used to replace windows, exterior doors and finishing air and heat through the building

Marketing/PublicityJenni Young

  • Passing out flyers at daycares for open house. They will be printed on colored paper.
  • Facebook Ads will run. We can target certain groups by location etc.
  • Shannon Memory suggested printing large signs (banners) to advertise the school.
  • Molly Schneider may be asked to possibly help design the large sign.
  • We will be asking local Catholic High Schools to hang the banners.
  • Banners will be hung at parishes.
  • Making sure parents in failing schools understand their options through EdChoice.

New Business

Meeting change in November?Courtney Weinheimer

  • Is the next meeting November 9th which conflicts with SJN Reconciliation.
  • Meeting will be changed to November 16th.

Comments

  • Angela Dangel is working on forming atechnology committee
  • What are the goals of this new committee
  • A meeting with Deborah Robbins will be scheduled to discuss the goals and next steps for this committee.
  • NW transportation as improved
  • We need to remember to be grateful the districts are required to bus our students. SJB is contacting parents when busses are late. The topic may be discussed at the next PTO meeting if concerns continue.
