Call to Order:

Mr. Simoneaux called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m.

Roll Call: Seven members were present with one absent and one vacancy.

Invocation and Pledge: Mr. Duhe led the group in prayer and Ms. Perrilloux led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Adoption of Minutes: Ms. Braud made a motion to accept the minutes with a second from Ms. Ash. Motion passed.

Director/Shelter Report: Mr. Perrilloux advised that Forsythe Fence installed the fence. A neighbor complained because the fire hydrant is inside the fence and is concerned about his horses across the road in case of fire. Mr. Perrilloux advised that the fire hose can easily be accessed over the fence. The fence is not quite flush with the ground, so that may be a problem..

Ms. Pam Talley is our new ACO and has many years experience due to her years of work at St. Charles Animal Shelter. She advised that they transport shelter kittens every Tuesday and every other Monday. 14 pets were adopted in May and 28 were transferred out. See the handout report for further numbers. The shelter is not accepting any out of parish pets at this time because we are full.

Mr. Perrilloux advised the inside renovation has to have a budget amendment and that will take place June 12th at the council meeting. Also, the reduced adoption fee has not been approved yet.

Pleasure Bend in located in St. John Parish with access by boat. They are under our utilities including fire, police, etc. The adoption event on May 19th was a success. Ms. Angelle Delaunaville (School House Rocks) provided our music at no charge and LFCU provided volunteers along with other people. 3 dogs were adopted on May 19 and 10 more in the next days.

New Business: Mr. Duhe inquired about the parish website. The picture of the pet is not a current one and advisory board members names are incorrect. It needs to be maintained better. Ms. Sance would keep it up to date, but the administration won’t give out the password. This needs to be taken care of.

With no more business, Ms. Braud made a motion to adjourn with a second from Ms. Ash. Motion passed and we adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
