40TH ANNIVERSARY: To mark the dedication of Our Lady and St. Brendan’s Church in 1970, a special Mass will take place on Friday, September 24that 7.30pm to mark this historic occasion. Celebrant will be Bishop Bill Murphy.

NOSTRA NEWS: ‘I love the Old Testament but I don’t really understand it’; For those that have never had the opportunity to explore the wonder and majesty of scripture, the Autumn course in the Cork city is one not to be missed. The course starts on Thursday, September 23rdat 7pm at the Presentation Brothers, Mardyke House, Cork.
Public Lecture Series (PLS), Limerick; The lecture series this autumn will provide stimulating material for those that are trying to keep ahead of changes in the multi-faith landscape in Ireland. KERRY EARTH WEEK: As part of Kerry Earth Week - September 26thto October 4th - St. John’s Parish will host two events. Harvest Massin St. John’s Church at 7pm next Saturday, September 26th. The Harvest Mass will take place in Curraheen Church & Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, October 2nd. Blessing of Petswill take place on Sunday, October 3rdin the Parish Car Park at 3pm. The last day of Earth Week, October 4th, is the feastday of St. Francis, patron saint of animals/ecology.
KERRY HOSPICE: Annual Coffee Morning will take in the Parish Centre on Friday, October 1st from 10am.
LATIN MASS: will be celebrated in the Dominican, Holy Cross Church this Sunday at 1.30pm. All welcome.
LEGION OF MARY:Meetings are held in St. Brendan’s Pastoral Centre every Monday at 7.30pm. All new members are welcome.
SAINT PADRE PIO PRAYERMEETING & MASS: will be held in Our Lady & St. Brendan’s Church on Tuesday September 21stat 7.30pm. All are welcome.
CONFIRMATION 2011: The date for the Confirmation Ceremony in St. John’s Parish is Friday, March 25th.
SOLAS TRÁ LÍ: is a voluntary organization which is currently seeking volunteers. This would involve going out socially with special needs adults on a Wednesday night. For information, contact Catriona on 087 9230291.

ANNUAL DOMINICAN PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK: Will take place on Sunday, October 10th. The bus will depart at 7.30am. Tickets are €20.00 and are available from the Priory office.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: For 3-4 hours a week in Mrs. Quinn’s Charity shop, supporting the National Council for the Blind. If you are interested in volunteering please call in to the shop in Rock Street for more information.
AN INVITATION TO REMEMBER: A service of remembrance will be held by Cork University Maternity Hospital on Friday, October 15that 7.30pm in St. Joseph’s Church(SMA), Wilton. All who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss are welcome to attend.
CARLOW CHOIR: Singers and instrumentalists from Louisiana & Mississippi will perform in St. John’s Church of Ireland, Ashe Street on Thursday, September 23rd at 8pm. Admission €10 at door. Proceeds to Kerry Hospice.
KERRY CANCER SUPPORT GROUP: Are holding an information evening at the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarneyon September 23rd. There will be talks on Breast disease and Prostate cancer. The focus of the evening is early intervention. All welcome. The focus of the day will be encouraging older people to develop a positive approach to their health. Healthcare professionals including, Dr. Margaret Kelleher, Consultant Psychiatrist, will be on hand to offer support, advice and assistance and answer any queries.
TRALEE GRAMAPHONE SOCIETY: BEGINS ITS Autumn season in the Parish Centre on Tuesday next, September 21st at 7.30pm. All welcome.
USED POSTAGE STAMPS: These can be handed in to Parish Centre in aid of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
OLD COINS: Trocaire are still collecting the old Irish and foreign coins. These can be handed in to the Parish Centre.
