TO BRING OR NOT TO BRING: This is the Question!

Students should leave all unnecessary personal items at home, due to limited space in rooms. Between Alaska’s rugged weather and the Academy’s full range of activities, students’ clothes and belongings will get hard use, and do not need to be new. To keep costs moderate, we encourage shopping in thrift stores and second-hand outdoor gear stores. Please mark all items with the student’s name or initials. Clothes and gear should be free of large advertising logos or secular pictures, slogans or photos.

Please do not send any pants other than what are listed below, students will not be allowed to wear them. All black pants, black jeans, and black dress pants should be regular cut, not cargo or baggy pants. Please make sure that pants are hemmed properly. Cut or torn seams are not acceptable.
