SUBJECT: Oklahoma 4H2O Water Fair Program
We are glad you and your class are going to participate in the Oklahoma 4H2O Program. The program teaches students about water, its importance, and how they can help protect this precious natural resource.
The highlight of the program is the Water Fair which will be conducted at your school on Tuesday, May 13 from 9-11:30am. In addition to the Fair, we are providing lessons from the Oklahoma Aqua Times curriculum and other materials that can be used before and after the Water Fair to help students better assimilate the educational information.
Before you begin any H2O activities, please have each of the students complete the PRE-TEST included with this packet. The same kids will fill out a post-test following the event. Those evaluations will be provided when we present the Water Fair. At the conclusion of the Water Fair or shortly thereafter, please have students complete the post-test. If you are able to pair them together, that would be much appreciated as well! The Water Fair Student Activity Book is a nice tool to use following the Water Fair along with the other lessons or students can take home to complete.
Lastly, I have enclosed a letter for parents, so please copy and send the enclosed letter home with the students. This is required in order for youth to participate in the evaluation. Parents only need to return the signed form if they DO NOT want their child to participate in the evaluation.
In addition to the post-evaluation, a teacher evaluation and student completion certificates will be provided. Please have your pre- and post-tests and teacher evaluations returned to your school office and ready for pick up by Monday, May 26.
We look forward to having you involved in this program. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. My phone number is ______and my e-mail is ______.
