POSTSCRIPT TO 2011
As we end 2011 and start 2012 never has there been in peacetime such apprehension of what the New Year may bring. 2011 has been a year of many baptisms and weddings and sadly far too many funerals. Andrew has been seriously ill and we await his return to us as soon as he is fully fit. We pray for all those who will be in hospital over Christmas and the New Year, and more than anything else we pray that even in these difficult times our nation may re-discover its Christian heritage and beliefs and create a transformation in our society which in so many ways has so many unnecessary and unpleasant aspects today and which contributes to so much that is wrong. 2012 is a year full of celebrations and anniversaries so let’s look forward to it with renewed optimism and hope. Fr. Simon.

MY THANKS

As always my thanks for all you do in both parishes, and for your cards, gifts and good wishes which are so appreciated. May I wish you all a Christ-filled Christmas and a contented New Year as we look forward to the opportunities afforded by 2012 which we must grasp!

With affectionate best wishes, Fr. Simon
