Answer the following essay questions fully and in complete sentences. Answers must be typed and included in your portfolio notebook. Take time to carefully formulate your answers because you may, at sometime in the future, be asked to live up to your answers.

1. Define the following terms in your own words. Technique, Precision, & School spirit

2. Convince us, anyway that you can, (i.e., by example, by promise, etc.), that you deserve to be captain. Include what your contributions will be as a person and as a captain.

3. How important do you think a captain’s attitude is toward the following...

Include the following in your portfolio notebook:
1. Table of Contents
2. Complete Captains Application
3. Essay on how cheerleading has affected your life this year and why it is important to you. You may want to discuss positive and negative aspects of high school cheerleading (based on your experience), and any suggestions for improvement on the next team including steps to achieve them.
4. Include one letter of recommendation. (No family please!)
5. List some ideas of what we can do for pep rallies next year, i.e. skits, cheers, dances, etc.
6. List 5-6 ideas for Spirit themes based on the teams South Sumter High School plays (ex. Bake Bryan- everyone wear BBQ attire).
7. Choose the one Ethical Principle that you feel is most important to you and to our program. Why is it so important? Give an example of how you apply this principle to your everyday life.
8. Choose 1 to 2 quotes that you feel motivate/inspire you and explain why they have that effect on you.
9. Map out/plan what one practice period would look like. Include what you will be doing, time amounts for each activity (stretching, jumps, tumbling, etc.), and a detailed warm-up routine. At the practice, teach 1 new cheer to the team. 10. Signed contract-please slide in the front pocket or sleeve of notebook.

*Notebooks may be any size and decorated however you see fit!
