The content of the subject
Study about social phenomena, focusing on three areas of social sciences, i.e. cultural, political, and economic areas. The studies focus on globalization, Thai social problems and situations, such as, disadvantage group of people, political chaos, FTA, and so on, which are chosen from contemporary issues in Thai society.
The objectives of the course
- To enable the students to understand social phenomena in three areas of social sciences, i.e. cultural, political, and economic areas.
- To encourage the students to study contemporary social problems.
- To enable the students to understand contemporary social circumstances.
Timetable
Part One : GlobalizationLecturer : Mr. Chalermsak Boonnum
- Introduce course.
- Course Evaluation
-40 scores for class activities
- What are we going to study through 14 weeks?
- E-learning for “Globalization”.
- Learning through survey research
What are we going to get from the survey?
- Assignment
-Each student will be assigned to interview with questionnaire guidance for 1 case. (5 scores for each interview)
- Students are supposed to send the questionnaires in groups and also in excel data.
- The teacher makes a conclusion about first chapter of globalization which the students study from the e-learning.
- The teacher gives 5-10 minutes for the students to ask some questions.
- The students will be asked present their interview in front of the class one by one.
- The teacher makes a conclusion about second chapter which the students study from the e-learning.
- The teacher gives 5-10 minutes for the students to ask some questions.
- The students will be asked present their interview in front of the class one by one.
- The teacher will present statistics analysis of the data the students have been collected.
- The teacher makes the last conclusion of globalization.
Part two: Thai Society and Problems

1. The teacher give lecture about the overview of society and culture

3. The teacher give lecture about the challenges to human security in a borderless world
Part Three : World Economics and Thai Economic Situation
Lecturer : Mr. Panalert Sirivongse
1. Introduction to Economics.
The teacher gives lecture about first chapter of Economic in general area including:
-Demand and Supply
-Macroeconomic and Microeconomic
-Inflation and Deflation
- Monitory and International Economics.
-Monitory Policy - Fiscal Policy
-International Economy
-GDP, GNP, National Income, Income per Capita
- Thai Economy and Trends.
- Capitalization and Sufficiency Economy.
Part Four : Thai Politics and Political Situation
Lecturer : Mr. Chalermsak Boonnum
1. The teacher give lecture about the Political Concepts
2. The teacher give lecture about the Political Institution, Party, and Groups of Interest
3. The teacher give lecture about the Thai governance and Polity
4. The teacher give lecture about the International Polity
