ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Sports Riders Club of Tasmania (SRCT) will be conducting an INTERCLUB (Historic bike) race meeting at Baskerville Raceway fromFriday 25th November until Sunday 27th November 2016.The Competition, which will be for Log Booked Historic solo motorcycles and Sidecars, will be open to holders of current M.A. licences. One event licences will also be accepted. All events will be conducted in accordance with the 2016 G.C.R.s of M.A, and these Supplementary Regulations. Interstate competitors membership cost is included in their entry fee.

The SRCT will also host a practice day for entrants on Thursday the 24th of November. To participate you must indicate on the entry form and pay the applicable fee. No entries will be accepted on the day.

  1. ENTRIES:
  2. Entries are now open and close on the 1ST November 2016. Entries will be accepted on a first in basis.
  3. Completed entries should be posted to ‘The Competition Secretary, Sports Riders Club of Tasmania, PO Box 15 Moonah, TAS, 7009’. Late entries will be accepted but a $50.00 fee will be charged. Late entries will not feature in the official program.
  4. The Club reserves the right to reject any entries and to alter, postpone or abandon the meeting in whole or in part if necessary.
  5. In the case of postponement or abandonment, entry fees will only be refunded at the discretion of the SRCT committee.
  6. Only entries received on the official entry form accompanied by the correct fee or payment processing information will be accepted. Please ensure all information fields are completed.
  7. Entries can be emailed to or posted to the SRCT BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE, provided the original and entry fee are sent the same day.
  8. ENTRY FEE:

2.1 The entry fee of $275.00 includes the 3 day event plus the Thursday practice day.

OR

The entry fee of $230.00 includes the 3 day event only.

2.2 Payments will be accepted by Cheque, Money Order, Credit Card or Direct Deposits. Direct Deposits can be made to: SRCT: BSB 067-100 Account 1014 8064. Please use your surname as a reference.

2.3 Cheques and Money Orders are to be made payable to the Sports Riders Club of Tasmania.

2.4 Please provide valid email address or provide a self addressed stamped envelope for confirmation of entry and any final instructions.

2.5 Circuit and Pit Entry are free for competitors and spectators.

2.6 If you require a 1 event licence you must apply and pay for it when you complete and return the entry form. One event licenses will be issued during scrutineering.

  1. MEDICAL SERVICES:
  2. Paramedic equipped Ambulance will be in attendance each day from 9am.
  3. Any rider that falls must present themselves (with helmet) to medical services for evaluation.
  4. SCRUTINEERING:

4.1 Scrutineering will begin from 7.15am.

4.2 All competitors’ machines must be inspected prior to taking part in any practice, qualifying or racing.

4.3 All riders must attend scrutineering with leathers, helmet, boots, gloves, back protector and license. Scrutineering (Machine + entrant) is required only once.

4.4 Any machines suffering accident damage must be inspected prior to heading back onto the circuit.

  1. CLASSES OF COMPETITION: HISTORIC LOG BOOKED MACHINES ONLY

5.1 Period 2 – Solo machines - all

5.2 Period 3 – Solo machines up to 125, up to 250, up to 500, up to 750 and Unlimited.

5.3 Period 4 – Solo machines up to 125, up to 250, up to 500, up to 750 and Unlimited.

5.4 Period 5 – Solo machines up to 125, up to 250, up to 500, up to 750 and Unlimited.

5.5 Period 6 – Solo machines up to 125, up to 250, up to 500, up to 750 and Unlimited.

5.6Sidecars – Period 3, Period 4, Period 5 and Period 6.

Allowances for capacity tolerances as per 2016 GCR’s for Historic Road Race engines apply.

  1. ENTRIES TO CONSTITUTE A CLASS:
  2. Should there be insufficient entries in any class of competition, the decision to run or cancel the class, or to combine the event with another category will be at the SRCT discretion.
  3. Classes will be combined to facilitate the event schedule. The groups are as follows.
  4. Group 1 – P3 Unl, P4 Unl, P3 750, P4 750.
  5. Group 2 – P3 500, P4 500, P4 250.
  6. Group 3 – P6 Unl, P5 Unl.
  7. Group 4 – P3 250, P4 125, P3 125, P2.
  8. Group 5 – P6 250, P6 500, P5 500.
  9. Group 6 – P5 125, P5 250, P6 125.
  10. Group 7 – P5 750, P6 750.
  11. Group 8 – P3 and P4 SIDECARS
  12. Group 9 – P5 and P6 SIDECARS
  13. STARTING PROCEDURE:

7.1 Starts will be by the extinguishing of the red lights on the bridge or the raising of the Australian flag at the start line.

7.2 In the event of a jumped start, the offending rider may be sent to the rear of the grid, or a time penalty may be imposed.

7.3Stalled Bike Procedure – If your bike stalls on the grid, raise your arm to warn other riders and to notify the starter. The start may be delayed to allow you to start your bike or you may be assisted the side of the track.

7.4 Riders are required to be formed up on the dummy grid in their starting positions 2 min prior to the opening of pit lane prior to their race.

RACING CONCLUDES

8.1Trophies will be presented to the first 3 placegetters in each class

  1. PRESENTATIONS:
  2. Trophy Presentations and BBQ will be carried out at the conclusion of Sundays events.
  1. MACHINES AND RIDERS:

10.1 All machines entered must comply with current General Competition Rules (GCR’s) for competition.

10.2 All machines must be lock wired and be fitted with engine case end protectors.

10.3 Chain Guards (shark fin) must be fitted.

10.4 No engine coolant is permitted. Only water is allowed to be used in radiators / engines.

10.5 Multiple entry of the one machine in the same class of competition is not permitted.

10.6All competitors riding gear must comply with MA standards as per the 2016 GCR’s. Only full face helmets to level A standard of a single shell construction are permitted.

  1. RIDING NUMBERS:
  2. Wherever possible, competitors will be allocated their registered or preferred riding number.
  3. If necessary the club may allocate numbers at its discretion.
  1. GRID POSITIONS:

12.1 Grid positions will be determined from two qualifying sessions.

12.2 Your qualifying time will determine your starting position for all races.

  1. RIDERS BRIEFING:
  2. All riders must attend the riders briefing and sign the attendance sheet.
  1. TRACK INSPECTION:Baskerville Raceway runs in an anti- clockwise direction and is approximately 2.1km long.
  2. All competitors are able to walk and inspect the track prior to any on track participation. This is only permitted on foot and prior to any practice, qualifying or competition events.
  3. Please be aware that service vehicles may be in operation on the circuit during track inspection.
  1. TRACK DISSATISFACTION:
  2. Competitors who are not satisfied with any aspects of the track can present these concerns to the clerk of the course or steward.
  3. If concerns cannot be resolved, the competitor will be invited to withdraw from the meeting.
  1. CIRCUIT FACILITIES:
  2. There are a limited number of powered carport style structures and other covered areas (with power) to house competitors machinery, they are available at $40.00 for the event and will be allocated on a first in basis. Marquees may be added if sufficient demand. Competitors are also welcome to work from their vans, trailers or tents with their own generator.
  3. A monitor will display live timing information at the circuit control tower. Live timing will also be available on the net from Natsoft.com.au

  5. Food, coffee and drinks are available within the pit area along with toilets and a shower.
  1. NOISE INFORMATION:
  2. No engines are permitted to be running before 8.30am due to local council regulations.
  1. DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING:
  2. All competitors are advised that random drug and alcohol testing may take place during the competition.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Please also read the additional information sheet (to be advised by end of August) regarding Fuel, transportation, accommodation and other general information.

Tire warmers and generators are not allowed in Pit Lane.

Pit lane will only be open to enter the track for 60 sec after the race has been called. If you are late, you will not be allowed to start from the grid and you will be required to start from pit lane after the rest of the field has passed.

Speed Limits

Pit lane speed limit between the flag point in pit lane entry and the pit lane exit is 40 Kph. The speed limit in the pits from the end of the control tower is 10 KPH you will be penalised if this speed limit is broken.

Wet Weather:

In the event of rain, it is likely that machines will be required to be fitted with treaded tyres.

Dogs:

No dogs will be admitted to the circuit under any circumstances.

Transponders will be used at this race meeting. If you do not use a transponder your results will not be included. Transponder hire is included with your entry.

CONTRACT TO PARTICIPATE IN MOTORCYCLE SPORTING EVENT AND/OR ACTIVITY

WARNING! THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DOCUMENT WHICH AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS. READ IT CAREFULLY AND DO NOT SIGN IT UNLESS YOU ARE SATISFIED YOU UNDERSTAND IT.

HEREBY AGREE with the persons, organisations and bodies corporate whose names appear in Schedule 1 (hereinafter collectively called "the organiser") that I am by this agreement entitled to participate in the motorcycle activity/meeting listed in Schedule 2 (hereinafter called "the meeting") at the venue listed in Schedule 3 (hereinafter called "the venue") on the terms and conditions set out in this document.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS, DANGERS AND OBLIGATIONS

2.I ACKNOWLEDGE that motorcycle sport is dangerous and that by engaging in the sport and participating in the meeting I take and am exposed to certain risks and dangers and am under certain obligations as follows.

a.that I may be injured, physically or mentally, and may be killed.

b.that my machinery or equipment may be damaged, lost or destroyed.

c.that other competitors may ride dangerously or with lack of skill.

d.that track or event conditions may be hazardous and may vary without warning or predictability.

e.that organisers, officials, landowners/track operators and any agents or representatives of those in charge of meetings are frequently obliged to make decisions under pressure of time and/or events.

f.that any policy of insurance of or in respect of my life or physical or mental health may be voided.

g.that there may be no or inadequate facilities for treatment or transport of me if I am injured.

h.that I have an obligation to myself and to others to compete safely and within the rules of competition.

INDEMNITY GIVEN TO ORGANISERS

3.IN CONSIDERATION of the acceptance of me as an entrant in the meeting I AGREE TO INDEMNIFY the organisers and each of them in the following manner.

a.that I participate in the meeting at my sole risk and responsibility.

b.that I accept the venue as it stands with all or any defects hidden or exposed.

c.that I indemnify and hold harmless the organisers, their respective servants, agents, officials and competitors against any actions, costs, losses or claims which may be made by me or on my behalf or by other parties for or in respect of or arising out of my death or any injury, loss or damage caused to me or my machinery or equipment whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any other manner whatsoever.

d.I agree to release to the full extent permitted by law the organisers and each of them from all liability to me for any claim, loss, damage, cost or expense (whether arising under statute, from negligence, personal injury, psychological trauma, death, property damage or infringement of third party rights or otherwise) that arises as a result of any act, matter or thing done, permitted or omitted to be done by me or which is in any way connected with my presence or involvement in the event.

e.The release and indemnity provided by me in this declaration is in addition to, and will not in any way limit the application of, the conditions of sale attaching to tickets, conditions of entry, conditions or credentials or any other applicable terms or conditions in respect of the event

f.A term of this release and indemnity will not apply where the term contravenes the law of the relevant jurisdiction under which legal action is legitimately taken however such terms are severable and do not invalidate the remaining terms

4.MEDICAL

a. I declare that I am and must continue to be medically and physically fit and able to participate in the meeting.

b.I acknowledge and agree that if required the organisers may arrange medical or hospital treatment (including ambulance transportation) for me. I authorise such actions being taken by the organisers and agree to meet all costs associated with such action. I understand it is compulsory for me to have ambulance insurance in some form and I accept responsibility for the cost of ambulance transportation, ambulance cover and agree to maintain ambulance cover during the term of my license / membership.

5.PRIVACY

a.I hereby consent to the collection of my personal information by the SRCT or MA in connection with my involvement at the event and in the use and disclosure of my personal information by the SRCT and MA to other agencies and officials associated with the event for the purpose of conducting and managing the event.

6.PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION

a. I hereby agree with MA and Motorcycling Tasmania (MTAS) that in consideration for my participation in the event that they may receive, collect, store and use my personal health information about me in the manner set out below.

I acknowledge that:

a.If I am injured, become ill or die at or following the event the party listed in schedule 1in addition to any hospital at which I am treated (together with my carers) will have health related information about me in their possession, power and control relating to me which is subject to obligations imposed by the Privacy Act (my information) and the Privacy Act is intended to protect my personal information.
