SRC Veterans’ Information

  • Please Take Time to fill out your Veterans’ Benefit Selection Form (VBSF) each semester!

Remember that we need to have a VBSF filled out each semester so that we can certify the benefits you are electing to use for the upcoming semester. With new students, we are not aware of the benefits you are entitled to receive until you have a completed a VBSF and supplied us with Proof of Eligibility and a copy of your DD-214. For returning students, we need the VBSF filled out to be sure you would like to continue collecting the same benefits as you were the previous semester. If you choose to switch benefits from one semester to the next please let us know ASAP so we can adjust your benefits. Without this form we cannot begin or continue to process your benefits!!

State Grants: State Grants include the Illinois National Guard Grant (ING) and the Illinois Veterans Grant (IVG). ING is for active National Guard members who are currently drilling with a National Guard unit. The IVG is awarded to Veterans’ who have served overseas under the criteria put in place by ISAC. To sign up for ING proceed to the website. Under the Illinois Guard Grant page you will find the application and can submit your on-line application. Within the week, I will check the roster and when your name appears we will enter award for your tuition and comprehensive fees. The IVG is a little different, since it is based on duty overseas – you will have to submit an IVG Application and your DD-214 to ISAC. After your information is received and processed, I will be able to log in and see your remaining eligibility. ING recipients must re-apply on-line each year to continue to receive benefits, IVG recipients simply submit a one-timepaper application to ISAC.
