SRA Boat Storage and Fee Policy

Effective through December 31, 2018

Liability. Anyone who stores a boat at SRA releases SRA from all responsibility for any damage done to the stored boat. SRA does not maintain property insurance for any members’ boats or oars.

Private Boat Insurance. SRA strongly recommends that anyone who stores a boat in or outside the Hod Fowler Boathouse carry private insurance that covers the boat.

Fees. Boat storage fees cover annual storage, one year-long Independent Rowing Cardand a set of oar storage for 1x’s, and two year-long Independent Rowing Cards andtwo sets of oar storage for 2x/2-’s.

Boat Storage Location. All boats are subject to relocation within the boathouse at any time by the Boathouse Manager. The Boathouse Manager will attempt to notify the owner of an intended move if possible. All boats will be located to provide access to the owner. However, boats that are not used by boat owners but are simply stored may be located to areas with limited access.

Labeling. Anyone who stores a boat at SRA is required to label the boat, riggers, and oars with their name, address, and phone number.

Boat Removal Policy. The boat of any owner who fails to comply with SRA policies or fails to pay storage fees will be subject to removal. SRA will provide notice of removal at the boat owner’s last known address. If the owner does not remove the boat within 30 days, the boat will be removed from the boathouse and returned to the boat owner’s last known address if in the greater Eastside area. If no such address is known, the boat will be relocated outside the boathouse. If the boat remains outside the boathouse for 60 days or more or is deemed to be a nuisance/violation of any governmental regulation, it will be deemed abandoned and donated to SRA. SRA will use or dispose of the boat at its discretion.

Renewal of Boat Storage: Private boat owners who comply with all Boat Storage Policies will retain their rack space for the duration of the calendar year. However, SRA reserves the right to not offer renewal at the end of the year if the club requires the use of a private rack. The Executive Director will handle such decisions on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellation Policy. Boat storage is rented on an annual basis. If a boat-storage space is vacated before the end of the calendar year, SRA will attempt to re-rent the space. If it is able to re-rent the space, SRA will adjust the member’s account balance on a pro-rated basis. If SRA is not able to re-rent the space, the member will be responsible for all fees due through the end of the calendar year. To cancel you boat storage, send an email to .
