Class Expectations

Hola y bienvenidos a nuestra clase. Spanish at the middle school consists of a two-year course (grades 7 & 8) that culminates with a proficiency exam at the end of 8th grade. Students who pass the course and exam earn a high school credit.

The course places an emphasis on communication in the skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition to vocabulary and grammar, students will be introduced to cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world.

We will be using the Buen Viaje textbook as a reference. Copies will be available in class. It is not necessary to have them at home. Students will be provided with all necessary resources (ie: vocabulary lists, grammar notes, etc.). Material will be distributed in class and will also be available on each teacher’s website.

The following is an outline of our expectations for you this year. You will be held responsible for them, so please be sure that you know and understand them.
