Howl-o-fest 2012

Springfield Oaks County Park

Davisburg, Michigan

Hello everyone and thank you for entering our Howl-o-fest 2012 tournament. We are looking forward to a great weekend of racing and Halloween fun! We have 30 teams entered this year. Our judges are Jennifer DuRocher andTodd Morningstar.

CRATING:

As you know, crating is limited. There will be assigned areas; crates may be dropped off after 4 pm on Friday. As always please be considerate of others. If the weather is cooperative, teams may choose to crate outside.

Be sure to CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG/S - clean up materials will be available at each of the entry doors to the building.

MEASURING:

Measuring will take place at 7:45 am on Saturday. Please bring dog’s CRN with you for measurement.

RACING

At this time, we do not plan to have a captain’s meeting. Racing will begin at 8 AM both days. Warm-up will be 2 minutes from the time the previous team removes their flyball box. We will cut warm-up time if necessary. Please let the judge know if you are ready before the 2 minutes are up. We will be taking a half-hour lunch break each day, as noted on the racing schedule. Many people are needed to make a tournament run smoothly. We are a small team, if you can, please consider judging for a race or two (or more), we greatly appreciate all volunteers.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

All Open Divisions, Reg. 1 and Reg. 2 will run a triple round robin while Multi and Reg. 3 will run double round robin. All divisions will be 3 out of 5 heats.

SCORING

One tournament point will be awarded to the winner of the race. If no team wins 3 heats after the 5th heat, then the winner of the race will be the team who won the most heats; if it is still tied the team with the fastest non break out time in that race will earn the point. If neither team completed a heat, both teams will earn a 0 for the race. Most points at the end of racing wins!

Teams were seeded according to times submitted. The Breakout rule will apply.

Ties for placement will be broken based on the following:

1) Previous Head to Head competition.

2) Best Non-Breakout Time Overall

PRIZES

We believe everyone is a winner so there are prizes for all teams.

HALLOWEEN FUN

During the Saturday lunch break, we will have the annual Halloween Games featuring the costume contest. Check with the games table on Saturday to sign up. Get your costumes ready to join in the fun!
