Springdale Farm 2014 CSA Bread Share

As part of its 2014 CSA, Springdale Farm is offering a bread share, produced by Water House Foods, in Lake Mills, WI. Water House Foods ( specializes in producing tasty slow-rise breads and fun treats that are made using organic and local ingredients. You can purchase the bread share along with your SF CSA share, though you are not required to purchase a bread share for membership in the SF CSA.

Similar to the way that the SF CSA provides you with fresh, delicious, seasonal produce, we try to offer bread share selections that complement the foods in your CSA box. Some weeks, your bread share will contain familiar bread and treat selections; other times, your bread share will contain something new. We see this as part of the fun of the bread share – and of the SF CSA – that your share contains weekly food adventures!

Notes:

  • WF = wheat-free = made without any wheat or gluten-containing flours; however, all of the items (wheat-free and wheat-ed) are made in the same facility.
  • In response to survey responses and input from previous years’ members, the pricing and sizing of the [S], [L], and [B] shares are different (lower, smaller) than previous years.

Duration

SFCSA Bread Share members can select

  • 22 weeks (FULL SEASON) or
  • 11 weeks (SUMMER SEASON).

How does the Bread Share work?

  • Bread share sign-up
  • Members who purchase any size share of the Springdale Farm CSA can purchase a bread share, for delivery on Tuesday or Friday.
  • Members interested in purchasing a bread share will contact and sign up with Water House Foods directly, via email at (preferred) or via phone at 608-225-3306. All bread share fees will be sent directly to Water House Foods, 132 E. Lake St., Lake Mills, WI 53551.
  • To sign up for a bread share, please fill out the form (below) and return to Water House Foods via e-mail or USPS-mail.
  • Payment in full must be received by Water House Foods at least 1 week before the 1st delivery.
  • WHF produces items for each SF CSA bread share each week.
  • All items will be produced by Water House Foods, emphasizing items using organic and local ingredients, and may include: loaf of bread, baguette(s), rolls or buns, pastries, croissants, bagels, scones, cookies, muffins, bars, wheat-free options, etc.
  • A preliminary schedule is included, below.
  • Delivery
  • Water House Foods delivers bread shares to Springdale Farm each week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Springdale delivers the bread shares to the pick-up sites.
  • If you will be unable to pick-up your bread share on a given week, we will be happy to hold your bread for that week and deliver it the following week. To be able to do this effectively, we ask you to let us know the date that you’d like to skip at least two weeks in advance.
