SPRING TERM LETTER
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Spring Term and we look forward to your support in the coming months as we plan and host various events to continue to raise money for our school.
THANKYOU for your support in the Autumn Term of 2014 – we had a successful coffee morning for Macmillan which saw you donate generously for this cause, your purchases of Calendars and Tea Towels, plus contributions to tea, coffee and cake events we have so far raised over £1500.
In addition we continue to use Easy Fundraising which is a very easy way of raising money for the school every time you shop on line.
This year we have a very specific target and fundraising goal. The school has purchased 15 iPad Airs, a charging hub and various learning applications as well as a new server to support our existing set of laptops. The laptops and iPads will be used by Key Stages 1 &2 to support the National Curriculum.
Our next event will be on Wednesday 11th March when Yeoman Warder Stephen McMenamy will be hosting another ‘Evening at the Tower’. For those who have not attended the event previously it is a chance to go on a fantastic tour of the Tower by Stephen, followed by dinner and drinks (cash bar) in the Yeoman Warders Club and then witnessing the very special Ceremony of the Keys – we welcome back those who have attended before and hope that more parents old and new will join us on the night – please feel free to extend the invitation to family and friends. This event is open to over 18s only. The evening includes dinner, tour and the Ceremony of the Keys. Only 60 places are available so please book your place as soon as possible. More information, including the suggested donation for the night can be found at the school office.
As well as fundraising, Friends of English Martyrs are currently working with Tower Hamlets Council and TFL on enhancements to road safety around the school. If you are interested in attending any of our meetings or helping coordinate activities in any way please contact your class representative (see information on the Parent Association page of the Who We Are section of the school website).
Please also review our Fundraising Board in the school foyer – this will keep you up to date with where we are with our fundraising target and has information relating to Easy Fundraising and school events.
Thank you for your continued support.
