SARISBURY SKIPPER

Spring is here!!

Book Fair

We had a fantastic book Fair with £602.45 in book sales. This results in £300 commission which allows us to buy books for the school, to enhance our reading further. Mrs Swinger is currently choosing new books for us all to enjoy across the school.

Bags2Schools

A big thank you to everyone for their donations, we managed to raise an amazing £171.60 which is 429kg. Thank you to Mr Clifford, our Site Manager for arranging this.

School Disco

The children had lots of fun at the disco, thank you to the staff for helping run this event. We raised £120 for equipment for the year groups.

Benchball Competition

Thank you to Mr Swift and Mrs Grover for taking our team of year 2 children to Fareham College. The children really enjoyed competing with the other schools in our cluster and Fareham area.

Website

Please take a look at our website and check out your child’s class page. Class teachers add information and photos when they can. There are also some useful apps listed for you to use at home.

Children can come to school dressed in red and bring into school a cash donation to ‘Red Nose Day’. The children will do lots to make themselves laugh throughout the day. Please help us support this charity.

Valentine Cake sale

Thank you to all those parents that bought cakes at the cake sale on Valentine’s Day, the PTA raised £78.20. Look out for the next one, we know you all love CAKE!!

Staff News

We are delighted to inform you that Mrs Beynon (teacher of Year 1 Seahorses) is expecting her first child in July.Congratulations from all of us.

Car Parking

Please may we be respectful of our neighbours when parking cars before and after school. Please do not block anyone’s drive way. This is especially important as our neighbouring roads particularly Admirals Wood and Nightingale Park, are part of our community and we want to keep relations positive.

New signs in playground

Please look out for our news signs in the playground. Thank you to Mr Wheatley for securing a £500 donation from NATS which has funded the signs. These have enhanced the grounds and the children are enjoying reading and learning about nature.

World Book Day

The children all looked fantastic in their various outfits for World Book Day, they had lots of fun dressing as a book character and enjoyed reading for fun. Thank you for helping us make this day memorable. It was great to see so many of you at family reading, we all love a good book!!

Scooters and bikes

Please do not ride bikes and scooters on the school grounds as they are causing problems on the playground. We need to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your help with this.

Governor news

In the December Skipper we reported that we’re looking to develop a closer relationship with you as parents and carers.

As part of this activity, the governing body have put together a short questionnaire which will be sent out via the children’s school bags next week, so please keep an eye out for it.

It will only take a few minutes to complete, and your responses will help to inform and shape our next steps.

On behalf of the whole governing body, thank you in advance for your support; we look forward to hearing your views.
