Service
- Thank you for a great place for help.
- Allow alumni to continue using library and check out books.
- [Interlibrary loan – Super!] Recently, I’ve mostly used inter-library loan because I often need very esoteric titles. The service has been EXCELLENT! I have always found the library staff to be very, very helpful! I think CU has an excellent library! (faculty)
- The acquisitions staff has been most helpful as had Barbara Pickthorn and Cathy Blackman. (faculty)
- They do a great job!
- Need more assistance in the evening.
- During breaks this library is not accessible for faculty needs. (faculty)
- I am very satisfied with the library.
- Students should be able to check out more books at one time.
- You are doing a good job w/ what you have—keep it up
- Thank you for your help.
- I am a Duncan student, and the only time I have been over there was last semester. Everything I needed was there, but the people were rude.
- It would be nice if you had a color printer available – charge if necessary.
- Do not charge students for copies.
- Technical help: sometime need help @ night & no one available
- Reference desk service: need more help . . . I feel need more technical help.
Collections
- I suggest updated books for Cameron’s Library. Many more updated books.
- I noticed that when getting reference books, the teacher asked us to use years 2006 or newer (for example) and that’s limited to me, most of the books seem very old.
- Add books dealing with Comanche code Talkers in WWII.
- I would like to see more up-to-date technical books that deal with people and the changing technology and how we react to it.
- It would be nice if the library had all the textbooks that teach department required. Also if the library could allow students to check them out.
- Low Peer Review Journals, DVDs out dated VHS out dated. Peer review journals need improvement. Shelf collection small and out dated. (faculty)
- I have more students who prefer to access the databases and online media than anything. (faculty)
- Increase the journal budget. (faculty)
- I would like to have more access to some electronic journals, but as long as the ILL service stays as good as it is—then it is not much of a bother. (faculty)
- Have access to all course books if possible within library use
Physical Environment
- Group study areas: need more
- Would like to possibly see more group student areas. They are always packed mid-semester and en of the semester which is problematic.
- We need a new library building. I like the recent changes in the library. More Open Space. (faculty)
- Though I understand the library administrations recent attention to online media—e.g., e-books, journal, etc.—I nonetheless find it greatly disturbing to see so many empty shelves . . . . With all of the space being freed up in the building, we might just as well put in racquetball courts. (faculty)
- Need larger library with more carrel space for faculty. (faculty)
- Faculty carrel. (faculty)
- Studying and concentrating in the library at certain times especially around and at the computers area is extremely difficult because students, staff, faculty, and visitors have no respect or consideration for those of us who are there trying to do our school work. They talk too loudly answering cell phones is a total nuisance and it is very rude to the people who are trying to study, etc. No answering cell phones in the library. Must be put on vibrate or silent.
Hours
- Open earlier.
- This library closes way to EARLY.
- I would like it if the library, once a week, would extend their hours.
- The library should increase its hours and work on a shift basis.
- Library hours should be M-F till midnight. Sa 8 or 10, Sun open mornings.
- The library hours need to be extended. It closes too early. Many people would like to come to the library after night classes.
- I would like the library to be open m-F 7:30- 11pm and Sal 8:00 am-10:00 pm.
Computers
- There are not enough computers in the library. On too many occasions I have come to this library and not been able to use a pc to accomplish some construction work.
- I wish there were a few more computers, sometimes it is hard to get in one.
- Students in my course complain about lack of computers. (faculty)
- Access to computers; need more around midterm and finals.
