-  Learnings from 2010 Workshop.

·  Having on-line wireless internet was very helpful.
·  Next year will have a printer.
·  Weatherford “wine savvy” reception was very good.
·  Need to organize presenters’ gifts for next year.
·  Courses were very well received.
·  Some people went to courses they didn’t sign up for.
·  Send a reminder e-mail in advance.
·  Use one generic background for course materials. Should be white.

·  Would like to have more young, good looking gals.
·  Need to have a design course.

·  Enjoyed networking with all of the people.
·  Good discussion with PTC and Statoil.
·  They think this is the best Gas-Lift Workshop in the world.
·  Would like more presentations on “new” technologies.
·  Need to start advertising earlier.
·  Only two presentations by Operating Companies.
·  Some thought that the API meetings were part of the draw for attending.

·  Would like to have a Technical Review Committee.
·  Cleon Dunham and Tommy Nations will explore this.
·  Presentations in PDF are not good.
·  Need to have an author’s breakfast.

·  It is important to have good traffic at the Exhibit Booths.
·  Need to tell others about this.
·  Willing to advertise using Service Company mailing lists.

·  Would have been good to have two screens in the room.
·  Was glad to have his supervisor come.

·  Generate a general “rule” about use of company names, trade marks, etc.
·  Need to tell people about the “wifi” code.
·  Mrs. Blann really appreciated our “honoring” Jack Blann.

·  Some complained that room was too cold

·  Enjoyed Bill White, but some were turned off by him being a Democrat.
·  Would like more Operating Company participation.
·  We need to encourage Operating Company management to send their people.

·  Presentations should not be commercial.
·  But some limited amount may be worthwhile.

·  Need to discuss continuing education.
·  Time to stop having “Artificial Lift” selection.
·  Need to continue a design course.
·  In Singapore can have a course on Dynamic Simulation?
·  Need to also have a course on dual gas-lift, operations, and automation.
·  For 2012, consider other locations in Houston.
·  Nice space in hotel for Exhibits, food, etc.
·  Need local advertising – TV, newspaper, etc.

·  Turnout was very good.
·  Maybe advertise earlier in the year.
·  Good Exhibitor turnout and good traffic at the exhibits.

·  Lee Mathews from Qatar said this is the best Workshop in the Industry
·  How can we reach out to more Operating Companies?
·  Need Service Companies to invite their e-mail lists.
·  Sell “day” passes.
·  Somebody said to include other forms of lift.
·  Having the “wine” event on Wednesday was a good time.

-  Are there any further learnings from the 2010 Workshop?
-  There has been a great deal of discussion about whether or not ASME will continue to sponsor international workshops.
-  Initially they said they would not.
-  Now they are considering it.
-  If they won’t, there are alternatives.
-  The ASME Petroleum Division Executive Committee has agreed to go ahead with the event; both domestic and international.
-  This is being reviewed in New York.
-  We should have final approval from New York this week.

3.  Venue for 2011 workshop

a.  Per our normal rotation, the 2011 Workshop will be in an international location.
b.  Are we all in agreement with having it in Singapore?
c.  What hotel is recommended?
d.  What dates are recommended?

-  Discuss the venue for the 2011 Workshop in Singapore.

-  Eric Lovie of Schlumberger is moving to Singapore and will be helpful.
-  We need to line up support from other companies in the area.
-  We need to have Presentations from the area.
-  Make a flier and a “request for presentations” for Schlumberger, etc. to handout. Done.
-  Obtain contact information on each SPE chapter in the area and “buy” an ad to be placed in their local newsletters.
-  Add Eric Lovie to the Steering Committee: Done

-  ASME and Schlumberger will work on securing the actual venue in Singapore.

4.  Costs for 2011 workshop

a. How much should we charge for registration? Cost in 2010 = $575
b. How much for Continuing Education? Cost in 2010 = $545
c. How much for Exhibits? Cost in 2010 = $600, $900, $1200

-  Should we stay with the same charges for the 2011 Workshop?
-  Or, given the extra costs of an overseas Workshop, we could increase the costs to:
-  Registration: $650
-  Continuing Education $600
-  Exhibits: $700, $1000, $1400
-  Thoughts?
-  The amounts listed above are agreed for the 2011 Workshop.
-  We will not charge a higher amount for late registration.
-  We will not have a one-day one day charge.
-  The rate for staffing a booth only will be $150 per day.
-  We will give a discount to active API/ISO members who are actually working on current API/ISO documents.
-  They will pay the full amount up front and can get a refund if they are eligible for it.

4.  Technical agenda for 2011 workshop

-  For a Workshop in Singapore, it would be good to focus on Technical Agenda topics of specific interest in the region.
-  What are these topics?
-  Who will serve on a Technical Review Committee to review Abstracts and Technical Presentations?
-  We need to schedule and Author’s Breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday.
-  Plan for two screens in the Technical Presentation room.
-  Use clip-on microphones for Speakers.
-  The topics should be favorable for the Far East.
-  We should look at the program we had in Kuala Lumpur.
-  Potential topics for the 2011 Workshop are:

-  Facilities
-  Automation
-  Field Reviews
-  New Technology
-  Valve Testing
-  Subsea
-  The Technical Review Committee will consist of Cleon Dunham, Jim Hall, and Tom Nations.

5.  Continuing education for 2011 workshop

-  For a Workshop in Singapore, it would be good to focus on Continuing Education topics of specific interest in the region.
-  What are these topics?
-  Possibilities, for three parallel courses:
-  Gas-Lift Design 2 Days
-  Dynamic Simulation 2 Days
-  Dual Gas-Lift 1 Day
-  Gas-Lift Operations ½ Day
-  Gas-Lift Automation ½ Day
-  It is important to consider the audience.
-  We need a committee to review the course materials. The following people agree to be on the committee: Cleon Dunham, Jim Hall.
-  We need to provide a template for each Course. This will be similar (possibly the same as) the template used for the Technical Presentations.
-  We should establish learning objectives for each course.

6.  Breakout sessions for 2011 workshop

-  Tommy White of Schlumberger has been picked to be General Chair for the 2011 Workshop.
-  He is with Schlumberger and they will be one of the primary sponsors of the event.

8.  Keynote Speaker for 2011 workshop

-  It would be good to secure a Keynote Speaker from Petronas or some other major Operating Company in the region.
-  Are there suggestions?
-  We should try to get someone from Petronas.
-  John Martinez will pursue this with ExxonMobil in KL; they can help find contacts in Petronas.
-  We need to discuss relationships between KL and Singapore.

9.  Registration Process for 2011 workshop

b.  Shall we try again to use the ASME process, or shall we revert to the ALRDC process?

-  In 2010, there were still problems with the ASME registration process.
