SPPHAV are running a free clinic for our members. Yes “FREE” so first in get the spots. We shall be offering 20 places – 10 Groundwork (and if we do not get 10 groundwork bookings closer to the date, we shall open this to ridden lessons) and 10 Ridden places
Come have a lesson with Rebecca Lund or Fiona Dearing or just come down to say hello! Both are well known Standardbred instructors.
** Your horse must be a Standardbred or Registered Part Bred only **
*** If you are not yet a SPPHAV member, you can pay $20 to become an Associate Member and this entitles you to participate in this clinic, receive our newsletters and ride/handle someone else’s horse that is registered with SPPHAV at our other events. If you wish to upgrade to a full membership and register your horse, so you can participate in future SPPHAV events, our awards and support your life after racing breed organisation, within 30 days of the clinic, we shall take the $20 off this cost and waive the administration joining fee***
45 min lessons – max 2 per group
Instructor 1 – Rebecca Lund – Ground work
This first lot of sessions is for those whom wish to work with their Standardbreds in hand – so not a ridden lesson, a groundwork lesson, so if you standardbred is currently not broken to saddle, this is a great opportunity for you or if you just need some tips to work on ground manners.
For those of you whom do not know Rebecca, she founded the Standardbred Pleasure And Performance Horse Association of Victoria (SPPHAV) over 20 years ago due to lack of opportunity for the Standardbred horse. She has broken and re educated many Standardbreds, won at Royal Show level and has also won the prestigious HRV award twice with different mounts. She is a classically trained dressage rider and has twice won the Standardbred dressage state championships. She is also involved in the racing industry and truly understands all the misconceptions of the Standardbred and also knows how to get over any hurdles you may have in progressing your Standardbred under saddle.
Instructor 2 – Fiona Dearing – Ridden Lesson
Fiona is otherwise known as “Remote Coach” - http://remote-coach.com/ - She has extensive experience in not only working and teaching people with Standardbreds but on confidence issues. She is a listed HERO re trainer of Standardbreds. Her style is one of encouragement and understanding – she will take her time and work through your issues. Note: SPPHAV is Standardbred Pleasure and Performance Association of Victoria are running this event and all participants are covered by their insurance for the day. Membership forms need to be completed if you are not a current member. One lesson per member.
