Sportsmanship Spotlight of the Month Guidelines
Do you know someone that exudes sportsmanship on and/or off the field? Do you know someone who goes Beyond the Game to empower others through sportsmanship or community service? If you answered yes to either one of those questions, then it sounds like you know someone who is eligible for Sportsmanship Spotlight!
Sportsmanship Spotlight is a way for students, coaches, teachers, faculty, boosters, fans, etc. to be recognized for all that they do to support and promote sportsmanship! Anyone is eligible to win!
To win, the attached form must be filled out completely by a nominating person and turned in before the deadline. The deadline for each month is the 15th and winners will be announced around the 1st of the following month. First deadline to turn in nominations is Thursday, September 15, 2011 with the first winners being announced Monday, October 3, 2011. Once a person is nominated, the nomination stands for the rest of the year. You do not need to nominate a person multiple times for the same event or reason if they don’t win the month after you nominate them. They will be placed into the pool for consideration throughout the rest of the school year.
The Sportsmanship Spotlight will be featured on the LHSAA website and will be promoted as well through other venues such Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, blog, etc. Each monthly winner will also be eligible for Sportsmanship Spotlight of the Year which will be awarded at the 2012 LHSCA Coaches Clinic in July.
About the LHSAA
The LHSAA is a private entity that provides and regulates interscholastic athletic programs that promote fair and equitable competition among its member schools that is in the best interest of the student athlete.
