HAPPY VALENTINE’S GREETING MOVIE CARD

  1. Make a folder on your H drive called VALENTINE_____5 pts.
  1. Log on to the Internet
  1. Using Google Images
  2. Find 4 appropriate pictures you can use to create a Valentine Greeting Card
  3. Right clickeach picture, and click File SaveAs. Save each picture into your new Valentinefolder _____ 10 pts.
  4. From your START button, choose All Programs, and choose Windows Movie Maker.
  1. Under CAPTURE VIDEO, import all 4 pictures
  1. Drag all 4 pictures to the time line
  1. Save the project as Valentinemovie_____5 pts.
  1. Under EDIT MOVIE, choose make titles or credits
  2. Choose add a title at the beginning
  3. Create an appropriate title for your movie (2 pts.)
  4. Change the font, the font color, and the font size (2 pts.)
  5. Change the background color of the title (2 pts.)
  6. Add the animation of your choice to the text (2 pts.)
  7. Choose done add title to the movie(2 pts.)

  1. Under EDIT MOVIE, choose make titles or credits
  2. Choose add credits at the end
  3. Change the animation to Credits: roll up, stacked (2 pts.)
  4. Add your name (1 pt.)
  5. The date (1 pt.)
  6. Class title (1 pt.)
  7. Name of the software used (Windows Movie Maker) (1 pt.)
  8. Change the font, font color, and font size (2 pts.)
  9. Change the background color (2 pts.)
  10. When you are finished, choose done, add the credits to your movie_____10 pts.
  1. Using EDIT MOVIE, create transitions between each clip (2 pts.ea.)_____10 pts.

  1. When you are finished, click on File and then choose SAVE MOVIE FILE.
  1. When the SAVE WIZARD window comes up, click NEXT.
  1. Under number one, give the file the name ValentineMOVIE
  1. Leave #2 as the default. Click NEXT.
  1. Click NEXT again.
  1. Wait for the movie to save.
  1. Click Finish.______25 pts.
  1. The movie will come up on the screen. (If it doesn’t, just click on your shared movie folder and click on the Valentine file.)

TO PUT MUSIC IN:

  1. Go to (You MUST use music from this site ONLY!)
  2. When you see the dialog box, you will notice that everything is in alphabetical order.
  3. At the bottom right, there is a search box for you to respond to.
  4. Put in a major word or term that describes the type/kind of music you want to search.
  5. For example, for Valentine’s Day we put in LOVE.
  6. Press the search button.
  7. After you find the music you would like to use, make sure it is a MP3 file, you need to right click it.
  8. When you right click, it will give you the option to Save Target as.
  9. You will immediately be given a SAVE AS dialog box.
  10. Click the green arrow that’s at the top of the dialog box and pick a realistic folder for you to put the music in.
  11. If you play around with the drop down menu, the computer will not let you save it and you have to start all over again.
  12. Please take a moment to REMEMBER WHERE you saved it.

  1. Now get out of the Internet and go back to your movie maker file.
  2. With your project on your screen, click on the left side under CAPTURE VIDEO…import audio/music.
  3. Go to where you saved your music file, and click import.
  4. You know that your music is imported when you see the music note with the name of the file under it in your COLLECTIONS box.
  5. Now drag the music note down to the AUDIO/MUSIC line at the bottom of the screen.
  6. RESAVE your project.
  7. To verify that it is working, click the PLAY button on the movie.

SHOULD YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE VOLUME OF THE SOUND?

  1. Click into your desktop.
  2. Press the F1 key.
  3. Help and Support dialog box will appear.
  4. Key in “volume” and press SEARCH.
  5. Follow adjusting volume directions.
