Parking Permits

Car parking spaces are limited on the University campus so a permit system has been introduced to manage the limited number of spaces. This system only applies to Main Campus and not Manor Road Sports Centre, Oadby where no permits are required. Parking for Main Campus Sports Members will be on the Sports Centre Car Park only and will be designated with a greenpermit and ‘SC’. Parking on other University car parks is not permitted during working hours.

Main Campus Parking

During working hours (8.00am –5.00pm weekdays) parking will be limited to permit holders, outside these times any grade of sports members will be able to park for free. Only the following grades of sports members will be permitted to apply for a permit to park during working hours:

  • Associate Members – only those who do not hold a permit to park elsewhere on University Campus.
  • Alumni Members

Staff members will be expected to park using their existing permits and allocated car parks (working hours only) and walk to the Sports Centre. (N.B. The circular hospital car park permits are valid to park on any University car parks).

Student members will not be permitted to park on Campus during working hours.

Barrier controls will be in place and you will need a proximity card to gain access through the car park barriers. The Sports Membership card will be activated for car park barrier access (Gate 1 and Main Campus Sports Centre Car Park barriers) if you are entitled to park during working hours.

Manor Road Parking

Manor Road Sports Centre will not be permit controlled but access to the car park will be through the barrier using the membership card to activate the barrier. Parking on Manor Road whilst attending the Sports Centre is not allowed in order to maintain a thoroughfare down this busy road and not to block in the local residents.

Permit Application Process

Please complete the application form to apply for a car park permit required at Main Campus only. More than one car can be registered for a permit (which is transferable between cars) but please indicate below if you require one for each car, for example if you and your partner will need to park separately.
