Entry List Published: Monday 7thof March 2016
Draw Published: Thursday 10thof March 2016
Arrival / All competitors should report to the Referee on arrival. Players not prepared to play when called will be scratched and in consequence no player should leave the hall without first notifying the Referee. In the event of any disputes the Referee’s decision is final.
Scoring / Best of 3 games to 21 rally points with extended play.
At the conclusion of each match the player should immediately inform match control of the match’s result.
Draw / The draw will be seeded. For age groups played on the same day, players can play in two age groups but not in the same discipline (e.g. cannot play singles in two age groups on the same day).
Singles events will be based on a knockout system.
Doubles events will be based on group stages with the winner and runner up progressing to a knockout stage. If the entry level for an event is sufficient for only one group, the result will be decided by the results of the group games.
There will be no final play off.
From the time of the draw all communications between the player and tournament secretary / Referee regarding withdrawal, late arrival, etc. must be with the player listed, and not via third parties.
Plate Event / Players knocked out in their first match of singles will have the opportunity to compete in the plate event.
At the conclusion of the relevant match the player should immediately inform the Referee if they wish their name placed in the draw for the plate event. Failure to do so will result in their name not being placed in the draw.
Group Rankings / Ranking in events played under the pool system or in groups.
Ranking will be established by the number of matches won.
-If two players/pairs have won the same number of matches, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
-If three or more players/pairs have won the same number of matches, ranking will be established by the difference between total games won and total games lost, with the greater positive difference ranked higher.
-If this still leaves two players/pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
-If three or more players/pairs have won the same number of matches and are equal in the difference between total games won and total games lost, ranking will be established by the difference between total points won and total points lost, with greater positivedifference ranked higher.
-If this still leaves two players/pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
-If three or more players/pairs are still equal, then ranking will be established by drawing lots.
-If illness, injury or other unavoidable hindrance prevents a player/pair completing all the pool matches, all the results of that player/pair shall be deleted. Retiring during a match shall be considered to be not completing all pool matches.
A player/pair is entitled to prizes according to results actually obtained before any withdrawal due to injury.
