Diana Lum

Diana Lum has worked tirelessly for Endeavour and its students! During 2014, Diana single-handed chaired programs and events that benefited every child at Endeavour. Her work behind the scenes on shuttle bus service , bus loading and unloading, and Endeavour’s most largely attended event, Walk-A-Thon, demonstrated real dedication to the Endeavour community!

For several years, Diana has quietly been the person responsible for scheduling buses with the ISD transportation department. In addition, she established a safe zone for families

to board the buses and kept things running smoothly with the buses during PTSA-

sponsored school events. By having someone responsible for shuttle buses,

Endeavour families have beenable to attend PTSA events without worrying about where to park. Diana spent many hours of her time making sure that the transportation needs for Endeavour families were taken care of at PTSA events.

In 2014, Diana stepped up to chair the beginning of the year bus loading and unloading for the third year in a row! She worked with staff, bus drivers, and parent volunteers to make sure that students got on the correct bus at the end of each school day as well as making sure that students getting off the buses in the morning knew where to go. This was especially important for Endeavour’s kindergarten students and students new to the school. Diana’s communication with ISD bus drivers, staff and volunteers resulted in a very smooth start to the school year.

By far the biggest volunteer event that Diana chaired was Endeavour’s Walk-A-Thon in October! Diana spent countless hours recruiting volunteers, planning, developing, organizing, and directing Endeavour’s most successful Walk-A-Thon to date. So many of Endeavour’s students and their families participated in the Walk-A-Thon (as did staff) and had a great time doing so. The event was an amazing fundraiser for the PTSA which gives it the freedom to provide many great programs and events to students and families. It simply could not have happened without Diana’s leadership!

In addition to chairing three different programs, Diana also volunteers at Endeavour in her child’s classroom. She has done clerical work for teachers, volunteered with small groups of students, chaperoned field trips and tallied minutes for Eager Reader.

Diana is also a volunteer in the community. Diana also chaired the 2014 Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scout Pack 682. This required her to organize den leaders and parent volunteers to plan a dinner, program and show for up to 200 Cub Scouts and their families. With Diana’s trademark organization and calmness, the event went off without a hitch.

Diana is an invaluable part of Endeavour school community as well as the Issaquah/Sammamish community. Her willingness to not only help with but to lead so many programs has improved the community and benefitted many, many children.
