Games will be played in accordance with high school basketball rules and

penalties with the following exceptions:

  • Basketballs will be provided for warm-ups. No outside balls will be allowed in the building.
  • No player will be allowed to participate for more than one team.
  • Games will consist of four - 8 minute quarters with running clock. Clock will stop on all dead balls only during the last 2 minutes of each half. Officials may stop the clock for injuries or official time-outs.
  • There will be a 5 minute half-time period.
  • Each team will receive 2 time-outs per half.
  • Overtime will be 2 minutes long and will start with a jump ball. Each team will receive one thirty second time-out in overtime (timeouts do not carry into overtime). If still tied after 1st overtime free throws will decide outcome according to MMYBA rules. One player from each team will shoot a free throw. The first player to make a free throw when the other player misses, that team will be declared the winner. If both players miss then two new players will be chosen till a winner is declared.
  • There will be five minutes between games for warm-ups. (This may need to be adjusted to keep on schedule.)
  • Full court pressing is allowed only during the last minute of each half. If a team is leading by 15 points or more, that team is not allowed to press while the 15 point lead is maintained.
  • Mercy rule will apply. If a team is leading by 15 points or more in the 4th Quarter, the clock will not stop on dead ball whistles and will continue to run until the point spread is less than 15 points.
  • Teams not on the floor at game time will forfeit that game.
  • There will be a charge at the door for all spectators. Coaches and players do not have to pay admission into the ball games.
  • A concession stand will be open throughout the tournament.
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
  • Thank you all for your participation in our tournament and we hope that everyone enjoys it!!!!
