DESCRIPTION: This course focuses on analyzing crush deformation & the procedures for measuring vehicles involved in collision for vehicle profile, crush determination & Primary Direction of Force (P.D.O.F.).

INSTRUCTOR: Kerry A. Berg, ACTAR Certified, is an expert in Collision Reconstruction, a field he has worked since 1972; Steve Haverkamp of Kerry A. Berg Associates; Sgt. Bill Esmay (retired), California Highway Patrol, M.A.I.T. Supervisor, Fresno Office.

PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of Traffic Collision Reconstruction.

PRESENTATION DATES & HOURS: This is a 40-hour course that will be presented on the above listed dates. The course begins at 0800 hours to 1700 hours each day.

CERTIFICATION & FEES: POST Plan IV. Total course fee: $205.00. Payment must be received prior to or on the first day of class in a single check should be payable to Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Students are required to have a notebook, steel measuring tapes, plum bob, chalk, and scientific calculator (TI-36X). Cameras are optional.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The Riverside Sheriff’s Department sponsors this course at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center. Courses are offered based on scheduled attendance. Failure to attend or cancel at least 10 days prior to the course date will result in a charge of the full course fee or a $25.00 administrative fee (whichever is greater).

DRESS CODE: Department issued uniform or casual business attire. No shorts or T-shirts.
