Minutes

1. SPED PAC library – Jessica can give us a shelf outside of her office.

2. Stefanie and Liz will meet with Jessica in Jessica’s office on Monday, March 6thto discuss the Transition presentation.

3. A “Playground Inclusion Presentation,” will be put on theagenda for the fall. Jessica highly recommends David Tynes from the Newton schools as the presenter.

4. On March 15th, Shelley Greene will be the facilitator for an IEP workshop through the Federation. The workshop will take place at The Minuteman Arc.

5. The Transition Panel will take place on April 5that CC.

6. In the future, we will attempt to videotape all SPED PAC presentations

Incomplete Action Items, December Meeting

  • Liz to pursue Institute for Community Inclusion re: panel for 4/5/06Transition meeting
  • Stefanie will solicit questions for above in March. Will hold planning meeting on 3/6/06
  • Stefanie and Liz will sit down at the end of the March business meeting and plan all SPED PAC activities for the fall
  • Stefanie and Liz will come up with a date for the Measurable Goals workshop to be held in the fall
  • Stefanie and Liz will come up with a date for the Access to the Curriculum workshop to be held either in the summer or Sept., 2006
  • Stefanie will resend email to Diana regarding Reading Recovery meeting with Diana, Pat Fernandez and Liz to discuss grant, how much longer it runs, as well as the reading specialist issue at Willard
  • Jessica will solicit questions re: parent survey, TEAM process, etc. for presentation and will send it out in May
  • SPED PAC will tack on questions that parents want to see in presentation, in May
  • The Concord Parents Initiative will publicize that Mel Levine will be speaking on Oct. 24th,7pm, at CC, in a fundraiser to benefit the Cambodian project.
  • Liz will write sample cover letter re: Parents Rights and will give to Jessica

Action Items

  • Stefanie will make an announcement on the SPED PAC list re: SPED PAC library. She will also ask for the donation of appropriate books
  • Stefanie will let Bonnie know when the library has 15 books, and Bonnie will compile a bibliography
  • Jessica will ask Tom Keene to be at the Transition meeting on April 5th
  • Jessica will contact David Tynes to see if he’s interested in being the presenter for the Playground Inclusion meeting scheduled for the fall
  • Liz will check with CC to make sure the Little Theatre is available for the April 5thTransition Panel, @ 6:30pm
  • Liz will ask for video equipment to be set up in the Little Theatre for taping
  • Stefanie will put videotapes of SPED PAC presentations in new SPED PAC library and announce the availability on the SPED PAC list
