SECTION 265616 – SPECIALTY EXTERIOR LIGHTING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS
- Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
1.2 SUMMARY
- This Section includes the following:
- Exterior specialty luminaires with lamps and ballasts.
1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Structural Performance: Provide bollard assemblies, including anchorages and foundations.
1.4 SUBMITTALS
- Product Data: Include data on features, accessories, finishes, and the following:
- Physical description of luminary, including materials, and dimensions.
- Details of installation.
- Ballasts, including energy-efficiency data.
- Lamps, including life, output, and energy-efficiency data.
- Bases and anchoring, including anchor-bolt templates.
- Shop Drawings: Include elevations and details showing general arrangement, anchoring and supporting systems.
- Include details of foundation system.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA70, Article100, by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction, and marked for intended use.
- Comply with NFPA70.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURERS
- Basis of Design Product: Each luminary is based on the product named. Provide the named product or propose a substitution for approval.
2.2 LUMINAIRES, GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Comply with UL1598 and be listed and labeled for installation in wet locations.
- Corrosion-resistant aluminum, free of burrs and sharp corners and edges.
- Exposed Hardware Material: Stainless steel.
2.3 BALLASTS FOR HID LAMPS
- Comply with ANSIC82.4 and UL1029 and capable of open-circuit operation without reduction of average lamp life. Include the following features, unless otherwise indicated:
- Ballast Circuit: Constant-wattage autotransformer or regulating high-power-factor type.
- Minimum Starting Temperature: Minus 22 degF.
- Normal Ambient Operating Temperature: 104 degF.
- Ballast Fuses: One in each ungrounded power supply conductor.
2.4 SPECIALTY EXTERIOR LIGHTING DEVICES
- In-ground uplight:
- Basis-of-Design: Hydrel M9720-ASP-P38100MSP-120-SP-34SNPT-IHL38-STR
- Voltage: 208,277 and120-V ac.
- Nominal Dimensions: round, 12-inch diameter.
- Lamps: 100W Metal Halide, PAR38, spot distribution.
- Lens: Double lens to reduce surface temperature.
- Internal Glare Control: Internal Honeycomb Louver
- Focusing and Aiming Provisions: 15-degree tilt mechanism.
- Trim Ring: Stainless steel.
- Bollard:
- Basis-of-Design: Landscapeforms “Annapolis”
- Voltage: 208,277 and120-V ac.
- Nominal Dimensions: Round, 12-inch diameter.
- Lighting: Option as standard with the manufacturer.
- Construction: Structural steel tube body, aluminum top and base ring.
1) Finish: Powdercoat in color selected by the Owner.
2.5 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS
- Concrete: Provide concrete composed of portland cement, coarse and fine aggregate, and water mixed in proportions to attain a 28-day compressive strength of not less than 3000 psi, complying with ASTMC94/C94M.
- Nonshrink, Nonmetallic Grout: Factory-packaged, nonstaining, noncorrosive, nongaseous grout complying with ASTMC1107.
- Sand: ASTMC33, fine aggregate.
- Elastomeric Joint Sealant: Multicomponent urethane joint sealant complying with requirements in Division7 Section "Joint Sealants" for UseNT (nontraffic) and for UseM, G, A, and, as applicable to joint substrates indicated, O joint substrates.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
- Inspect each installed fixture for damage. Replace damaged fixtures and components.
- Foundation Installation: Provide foundations to secure bollards.
- Illumination Observations: Verify normal operation of lighting units after installing luminaires and energizing circuits with normal power source.
