Themainfocusofthecourseistoinvestigatevariousrepresentationsof3D

shapesandobjects,aswellastheirwidespreadapplicationsincomputergraphicsandvisualizationfields.Forinstance,“howcanwebuildamodelfromacquired3Ddata(i.e.scanneddata,medicalimages,unorganizedsetsofpolygons,voxels,etc.)?”and“howcanweusethemodelforreconstruction,simplification,recognitionof3Dobjects?”Potentialapplicationsfortheproposedmethodsincludecomputer-aideddesign,medicalimaging,socialnetworks,entertainment,andeducation.Thegoalofthiscourseistoprovidegraduatestudentswhoareinterestedingraphicsandvisualizationacomprehensiveknowledgeongeometricconceptsandalgorithmsviabothlecturesandclassdiscussions.
