SPORTS RULES

Please be sure to look at the Sports Rules in your Competition Guide prior to coming to this tournament. Please be familiar with these rules and if you have any questions do not hesitate to call the Area Office prior to the tournament. All rules will be followed, with no exceptions.

Some rule reminders:

  • All athletes need to be present at District Competition in order to advance on to State.
  • All athletes must be given the opportunity to play.
  • No jewelry, including rings, rubber bracelets, barrettes, etc.
  • On the team position cards, please circle who the 1st server is, even though you will put the 1st server in the 2nd position. This will assist the officials.

  • If a short serve ball goes past the 10 ft. line, it is considered out, unless a player has contact with the ball. Then it is playable and a live ball.
  • Attacking the serve will be enforced at all levels!
  • Coaches can only coach from their bench area.
  • Only 1 coach at a time can be moving within the coach’s free zone.
