Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope that you and your child(ren) are relaxing and enjoying the summer! The entire staff of Matsunaga Elementary/Longview School welcomes you and your child(ren) to another MES/LV adventure and a rewarding educational experience! We hope that you will continue to be involved in PTA and school activities. The first day of school is Monday, August 26, 2013! I hope that your child(ren) are taking time to work on their review packets. Open Houses will be held by grade levels. We invite you to come and visit us during your assigned Open House time.

LONGVIEW SCHOOL’S OPEN HOUSE – Friday, August 23 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Our school hours are 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students should not plan to be in the building before 9:05 a.m. Bus schedules are included in this package. Please take the time to look over them as route numbers and bus stops may have changed this year. School breakfast will cost $1.30. School lunches will be $2.50 again this year. Please review the SNAP information attached to this letter concerning the pre-paid lunch accounts. The school lunch menu for the first week of school is also attached. The Matsunaga Elementary School Policies and Procedures will be sent home with your children during the first week of school.
Our School Supply List can be found in this packet as well as online at: www.TeacherLists.com. On TeacherLists.com you can find not only the school supply list for each grade level, but also “wish lists” posted by grade levels and individual teachers that will enhance our classrooms and provide students with the supplies they need to thrive throughout the school year. TeacherLists.com will be available throughout the school year for parents who would like to donate items to their child’s classroom from their teacher’s wish list.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHTS We invite parents to attend a meeting with the Administrative team, the PTA and to visit with your child(ren)’s individual teacher(s). Please mark your calendar with the appropriate date for your child’s grade level.

Monday, September 9 Grades K & 1 7:00 p.m.
Class lists are still being finalized as our enrollment continues to increase daily. Your child(ren) will receive a special postcard from their classroom teacher, welcoming them to the new school year! Class lists will be available at the Open House for students and parents on Wednesday, August 21, Thursday, August 22 and on Friday, August 23. Please be aware that homeroom placements may not be changed after the lists are posted at Open House.
