Spanish for Leaving Certificate
This course is for 6th year students who are currently studying Spanish for the Leaving Certificate in Higher or Ordinary Levels. It may also suit 5th year students who are studying Spanish for the Leaving Certificate.
Programme Aims
To revise all aspects of the Leaving Certificate Spanish programme and to prepare students for the oral, written and listening exams. To give students the expressions, tools, vocabulary and notes needed to excel in the Leaving Certificate Spanish exam.
Programme Content
Students will receive handouts, worksheets and notes to broaden their understanding of the Spanish Language specifically for the purposes of the Leaving Cert Spanish oral and written exam.
In each 2 hour session will be allocated to oral work and preparation for the oral exam and to exam technique, key expressions, grammar, texts, written productions and listening.
Students will work on various written expressions, listening examinations and reading comprehensions from past examination papers and will be provided with model answers, marking schemes, study tips and various learning techniques to help with their preparation for the Leaving Certificate Spanish exam.
· To enhance students fluency and confidence with spoken Spanish for the Leaving cert exams.
· To equip students with the notes, model answers and study techniques to allow them to achieve their potential in the Spanish Leaving Certificate exam.
· To increase students’ knowledge of vocabulary for reading and listening comprehensions and improve their written expressions (letters, postcards, diary etc)
· To develop students’ understanding of the various grammar concepts required for the Leaving Certificate exam.
· To provide students with exam tips and hints in order to excel in the Spanish Leaving Cert exam.
