Minutes of Board Meeting – October 3, 2013
The meeting was held at the home of Larry Rasmussen and called to order at 7:10 PM.
All Directors of Spanish Cove were present as follows: Janet Gunnersen, Carol Grupe,
Sharon Martin, Larry O’Pezio, and Larry Rasmussen.
Old Business:
The Board is still getting complaints from residents about people not curbing their dogs. As you know, we have sent out several letters addressing this problem. This is a matter that has to be taken to Brevard Animal Control by the homeowner.
Landscaping:
A large area of crabgrass has been removed and replaced with sod in the common area in Spanish Cove Circle by LSP. There are no other changes or additions planned at this time.
New Business:
Our President, Larry O’Pezio, recently attended a meeting of the SMHOA. They are still sending out “letters of violation” and had recorded 960 first offense letters throughout the Suntree Community.
The future plans for SMHOA include widening and adding a bike lane on Interlachen, dependent on available funds.
Members of the Board are attending an upcoming seminar on the 2013 Florida Legislative Updates for HOA’s.
Social:
The upcoming Halloween party is being held on Thursday, October 31st, 6:00PM at the Caputo’s home.
Turkey Bingo at Suntree Country Club on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Holiday Brunch at Suntree Country Club is tentatively scheduled on Sunday, Dec. 8 . (Date confirmation to follow.)
We also discussed going to a restaurant at Port Canaveral around 4:00PM to see the cruise ships leaving the harbor, and then staying for dinner. (A tentative date is Sunday, Nov. 17th – more details to follow.)
The Annual Meeting is Tuesday, January 21st, 2014., and will again be held at the Suntree Country Club at 7:00PM. We will have two Board vacancies to fill at the meeting. Larry O’Pezio will be in charge of the Nominating Committee,and he will recruit two more members to serve with him.
The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7:00PM at the home of Carol Grupe.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:50PM.
