Lesson Opener / -Warmup introducing the Hispanic holiday of El día de los Reyes; students read a short paragraph about the celebration and answer 2 questions. / -Students find their paper shoe and receive their “gifts” from the 3 Kings.

-Short video clips showing the parade activities in Spain
  • -Reading/Writing Activities: students read another longer paragraph about the holiday and answer true/false questions; students write a letter to the 3 Kings.

Lesson Summary / -Students create their own paper shoe to leave out for the 3 kings (a tradition in many Hispanic countries) and leave the shoe in the classroom until tomorrow.
