Lesson Opener / Warm-up: Study for a pop quiz over places of the city! / Warm-up: Grab the handout off the podium and be ready to take notes. / Warm-up: Los mandatos informales (tú), Problemas en la Universidad: students give advice (commands) to a student who has a poor college roommate. / Warm-up: Formal and Informal Commands review. Students receive a summarizing review sheet to complete over the three types of commands along with a chart to complete. / Warm-up: students practice forming usted, ustedes, and tú commands on a small half sheet, which has a chart.
Procedures/Strategies / -Quiz: en la ciudad
-Prepositional Phrases: handout over prepositional phrases for giving directions in the city.
-Students are given a map and must give directions to certain places in the city. / -Informal Commands PPT: Students complete a fill in the blank sheet over informal tú commands that goes with the PPT. / -Formal Commands Fill in the Blank Notes
-Practice examples on the board. / -Tú commands review: Mandatos para Paquito: students give advice to Paquito, a misbehaved toddler. / -Cinderella tú commands review: Students hear the “working song” and answer questions about tú commands.
-Formal Commands review: students give advice to a tourist that is visiting a city, and also give advice to a student as a teacher.
Lesson Summary / -Estar with prepositions practice sheet. / -Los Mandatos Worksheet: students complete a practice worksheet over informal tú commands. / -Los Mandatos Formales Práctica: students complete a practice chart with multiple verbs by writing formal and informal +/- commands. / -Uds. commands review: students write a conduct guide using uds. commands for foreign exchange students coming to RHS explaining what to and what not to do.
-Students complete the guide on their iPads in a brochure format. / -Commands Group Activity: Students get into groups of 3 and receive an activity that would give instructions for.
