Held at Mole Barn, Leatherhead Leisure Centre, Surrey.

Sunday 30th October 2011.

Many thanks to the members of the Southern Golden Retriever Society for asking me to judge at their show. We were very well looked after by Hazel Evans and her team. Thank you Linda my wife for doing the ring stewarding and Ann Cook who stepped in last minute to keep the scoreboard, you did a good job in keeping competitors coming all day it was much appreciated. Thanks also to Derek Wilton for looking after the stays.

C Class. 5 entered 4 worked.

1st No. 153 Miss A Strachan with HANNAN’S PURE GOLD (B). This team worked very well today just minor faults in heelwork but all other exercises clear. Well done.

2nd No. 92 Mrs P Keeble with PURBARN QUITE A MADAM (B) This was this team’s first C and a very good job they made of it, just minor errors in all exercises. Very well done. Good luck next year at the Open Shows.

3rd. No. 34 Mrs Enid Diplock with PEPSANNER ROYAL STAR (B) A little noise in the stays and dropping the cloth otherwise it was another good round. Well done.

4th No. 37 Mrs S M Elliston with HARSETT REGAL ROSE AT RUSSETTDAWN (B) Assorted positions on the move, Sit, Stand and Down and Distance Control let you down today, all other exercises good. Well done.

Class A 10 entered.

1st No. 84 Mrs S Howard with CLEYNEHAGE JUKEBOX (D) In a class of their own today. Very good heelwork and all other exercises good. Very well done.

2nd No. 33 Miss J Dewhurst with PEPSANNER ALDANTI (B) Heelwork needs tightening up on the turns. Recall, Retrieve and scent good. Well done. Won Run Off

3rd No 4 Mrs J Backhouse with SANDICLIFFE DAISY ROOTS (B) Recall, retrieve and scent good but as above turns need a little working on and the red will be yours. Well done.

4th No. 38 Mrs C M Elliston with HARSETT TAMSIN AT RUSSETTDAWN (B) Retrieve was your downfall today all other exercise very good. Well done.

5th No. 143 Miss H Scoggins with WHITEFERN WITCHAZEL (B) Heelwork and set exercises good but scent a little disastrous which was a shame. Well done.

Beginner 24 entered, 16 worked.

1st 189 Ms A Watson with MASTAMARINER KING HARRY (D) This team today were in a class of their own. Excellent heelwork, recall and retrieve. Well worth the red card today. Very well done keep up the good work.

2nd 135 Mrs T Robinson with TIMTAURN TANUSHRI AT DETECTION (B) I believe first time in the ring and worked very well indeed. Well done.

3rd. 125 Mr & Mrs M Pett with RUMWOOD ROYAL ICING JW (B) Not a lot wrong with this team they both tried really hard just odd bits and pieces. Well done.

4th 55 Mrs A Gladwin with SERENE PURSUT LIGHTNING BOY (D) Bently was very attentive he just needs to be a little closer, set exercises good. Well done.

5th91 Mrs A Mr R Jones with SONERILA CALANTHEA (D) Heelwork coming on, good recall but retrieve a little costly.

6th116 Mrs C Morecroft with POPERINGE SCARLET IBIS (B) I have seen this team work a lot better than today which was a shame as I know they can do better. Keep up the training, well done.

7th Certificate of Merit Mrs A Gladwin with VARCHES TOGETHER FOR EVER (D)Just out of the cards today but was able to earn his COM. Well done.
