Qualifications & Venues.

The show dates above will be holding MIDARC (M), Equifest (EQ), South West Pony Association (SW) Royal London (RL) and Cricklands Qualifiers (C).Senior dressage (SD)

EQUIFEST : “This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 17th – 21st August 2016. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.”

MIDARC: “This Show is affiliated to MIDARC UK and runs qualifiers for the National Championships and the Sunshine Tour – full details may be viewed at

ROYAL LONDON : “First, second and third placed horse/ponies not already qualified in eligible classes will qualify for the champion of Britain title classes to be held at the Royal London show in 2016. Each qualified horse/pony will receive a qualification card in the ring which will enable the owner to enter the Royal London Show, provided the owner and rider /handler are, or become registered with the international showing society within 28 days of the qualifying show. SOUTH WEST PONIES :: This show is a qualifier for the south west pony association championships to be held on 1-4th September 2016, at The David Broome Event centre, Crick, Gwent, NP26 5XP.

To qualify for the championships:

1.Enter one of the qualifying classes

2.Be one of the two highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first four and receive a qualification card signed in the ring.

3.Complete the entry form and qualification card

4.Return the card together with any registration fees due within 14 days of this show

Please note: registration fee for 2016 is £30 to include all members of the family and equines owned by the family

Membership.

You can join as a south staffs member at any time throughout the season.
Becoming a member means you will be awarded points for each class you compete in.
These points will accumulate over the season and there will be a champion and reserve champion of each class awarded at the awards evening.
A minimum of 50% attendance at the shows must have been achieved by September for the points to count towards the awards evening.
However points will not be backdated for more than one show from the date of joining

Sash show – 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all classes will be awarded sashes.

Olympic medal show – Gold, Silver and Bronze medals awarded to the first 3 in each class

Please remember points are awarded for all members in each class even if you are not placed in the first 6.

1st – 15 points, 2nd – 12 points, 3rd – 10 points, 4th – 8 points, 5th – 6 points, 6th – 4 points, not placed – 1 point

Points will be awarded to the member not the horse. In situations such as rider/ handler classes it is possible to change horses throughout the season. In situations such as Inhand coloured or ridden cob it will be the combination of horse and rider

5 extra points per class will be awarded at the 2 bonus shows!

Juniors & seniors will jump together and be awarded separately in classes 1-4 if numbers warrant. Annual points will still be awarded to juniors and seniors for classes 5-7. Any horse/rider combinations that have been awarded “south staffs show overall jumping ring champion” aren’t eligible for classes 1-3.

CLASS 8 BEST HORSE / PONY OF RIDING CLUB / PONY CLUB TYPE (M, RL)

This class is open to Riders of any age, Horses or Ponies, Horses to be ridden by Riders 13yrs & over.
Competitors may be asked to jump a short course of small jumps

CLASS 9 WORKING HUNTER 1’9” (M, RL)
Riders on the Lead Rein will be allowed to compete in this class. Novice Riders may be assisted.

CLASS 10 WORKING HUNTER 2’0” (M, SW)

This class is open to all ages.

CLASS 13 WORKING HUNTER 2’9” (M, EQ, RL,SW)
This class is open to all ages.

Equifest qualifiers will be awarded in this class to horses and poniesexceeding 143cm and not exceeding 153cm, with riders that have not attained their 25th birthday before 1st Jan in the current year.

CLASS 14 WORKING HUNTER 3’0”- 3’3” (M, EQ, RL, SW)

This class is open to all ages.

Equifest qualifiers will be awarded in this class to horses exceeding 148cm and not exceeding 158cm, with riders that have not attained their 25th birthday before 1st Jan in the current year.

The first two placed in Classes 8 – 14 will then be judged for the Working Hunter Ring Championship.

A consolation championship will be held in ring 6 at the end of the day and is open to any competitor not receiving a first or a second

The following classes are open to Riders 16 years & under, except where stated. Competitors must compete as either a junior or a lead rein competitor. It is not permitted for you to do both (with the exception of first ridden and tiny tots)

Lead Rein Handlers should be Aged 16yrs & over
