SUBJECT: Orton Gillingham Training Program for 2010-2011
Once again, Orton Gillingham Associates will present the Orton Gillingham Training Course for teachers and other educational professionals at the South Shore Educational Collaborative. Orton Gillingham is the basis for multisensory programs such as Wilson and Project Read. The course will consist of 45 hours of seminars and 100 hours of a supervised practicum. The practicum consists of tutoring two students in your classroom or school for two hours each week for a total of four hours weekly. Following successful completion of the training, Orton Gillingham Associates awards certification in Orton Gillingham.
The training will be offered at the South Shore Educational Collaborative, 90 Industrial Park Road,
Hingham (45 hours of seminar) from 4:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m., commencing on Thursday September 23,2010. However, the first five classes will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The total cost of the training is $1,950.00. This includes the seminars and supervised practicum. The teacher’s manual and cards are an additional $95.00

Some school districts may pay all or part of the cost for this training program. If your school district is paying for this training, a purchase order number is needed when registering. . If you are paying for this yourself, a deposit of $100.00 is requested to register, and is due on or before August 17, 2010 with the registration form. The final balance is due on or before September 23, 2010. This is a tax deductible educational expense if you are paying for the course.

Pre-registration is required. Cancellations must be received two weeks in advance of the first class. The course is approved by the MA DESE for pdp’s- 6 graduate credits are available from Fitchburg State College for an additional fee of $500.00
