JW collected 4 bags of rubbish and also about 20 small gas cylinders by the Youth Shelter. Underpass was basically clean, very little litter and all the lights working. On the footpath by the pinch point there was a pile of bricks and kitchen tiles, too large for immediate collection.
The seat on the footpath opposite the Parish Office there was a pile of burnt logs which was relocated to the bushes. This is the location were the drug paraphernalia was found. It was agreed to report both instances to the police.
Play & Youth
JW report that all the swings and play pack need painting, and the Clerk was asked to organise the work.
All the other equipment was working well.
West Common
IG reported that the new byelaws look good.
There is a tree that is gradually falling and should be removed, Clerk to action. IG to send picture.
The oak trees do not look as healthy as they should do but there are new beech trees around which was pleasing.
JW asked if members they would approve the planting of Wild Service Trees, they will give us diversity and increase interest in the differing types of trees in the Common.
It was agreed to get a contractor to plant them, subject to a quotation, JW/DCHP to organise location.
The crossing from the East to West Common just off the A40 gets very wet. The most appropriate action would be to raise the footpath and install drainage.
Both ponds look in good condition, New Pond has lots of Water Lilies and is to be sprayed in May for Crassula.
The quote of £500 for the new seat was approved.
To was agreed to contact Dr Newman and discuss further work to remove silt from Latchmore Pond.
I Bayliss reported and sent a photo of an Ice Cream van parked on West Common triangle. This is a dangerous location as the children have to cross the road and wait in the road to be served, also it is private land. Councillors are encouraged to ask him to move and the Clerk is asked to contact the Police.
SBDC David Gilmore have offered the Parish Council A4 posters against Dog Fouling. Members agreed they would be useful.
IG If we are considering getting a new picnic bench they can now get them suitable for wheelchairs.
The limes on West Common triangle need pollarding, Clerk to get a quote.
The Camp
JW The Camp is well used and appreciated, there is still a branch that needs removing which PG has promised to remove.
There was no litter but there were 4 dog bags which had to be picked up
Sue Jones reported a young teenager was seen on a Quad Bike..
Review outstanding tasks
Concrete under a bench by the swings - we are still trying to get repaired.
GXCV
At the last meeting there were 15 members attended including the Lord of the Manor. Work was achieved on half the Packhorse Road ditch. Both cutting back vegetation and litter picking the ditch as well as the overhanging bushes and gorse. Good results were reported on the Traders Clear Up Day when the centre of Gerrards Cross was targeted.
Best Kept Village
A5 leaflets has been designed to ask residents to look at the outside of their houses and tidy them. JW agreed to do East Common, IG West Common and Anita agreed to do Bulstrode Way.
Footpaths
IG to check his footpath.
JW has checked hers and all is well.
Facebook and Twitter topics.
Put that New copies of the Byelaws are on the Common at both locations, and both ponds are looking good.
JW took this opportunity to say how sad she was that IG was leaving the Parish Council after such a long stay.
But she was glad he would continue as an Associate member.
