Item 3 (e) Telephones - JCAW informed the group she is currently looking at finalising the deal.

Item 4 - Confidentiality statement - to change wordingto :- members not happy with present format (currently - were not happy with signing the form).

Item 6 - change wording to most Enhanced Service (currently - most things).

Item 11 - Review of flu clinics to be done in the new financial year. JCAW said 200+ extra pneumococcal had been given and the BP recordings had positive feedback from the patients. We are likely to continue with Saturday clinics. Patrington surgery was not big enough for what we tried to do. EH said the clinics worked well at Roos.

4.Patient Survey Report

JCAW stated:

  • The number of responses had improved from last year, the target was 500 and the total received to date was 370.
  • The group would have to agree the actions they would like to take with the results.
  • The CCG was keen to gather information about the services provided hence the survey focusing on community services.
  • The results are the views from local people where they would like services to be held.
  • The results from Hedon Group Practice survey were almost identical.

The report was discussed in detail and JCAW asked for the groups initial thoughts:

  • GK - it was obviously favouring local services.
  • MB - patients have asked ‘if anything would come of it’?
  • GK - can the surveys be amalgamated? - JCAW bringing them together would be a lot of work.

JCAW showed the various patients comments:

  • There were mixed views - which will be published.
  • The results showed patients wanted local services.
  • JCAW said the Practice would like to see more consultants at Withernsea.
  • The results showed overwhelmingly patients wanted local services.

CW asked is we could flag up a response to MRSA testing - JCAW said yes.

GK - there is quite a lot we can ask the CCG to look at with the responses we have from the survey.

JCAW - We have started to do INR testing at Withernsea which has had positive comments from the patients.

JCAW - will circulate the report to the group once completed for their comments/ input. It was agreed patients wish to have services locally.

RW - who put the survey together?

JCAW - the locality group.

RW - some patients found the survey confusing.

JCAW - The main point of the survey was to try to allow patients to give their views on the services they received. Also try and come up with better pathways and it can be used to encourage secondary care providers to go into the local community.

JCAW - there had been planned gynaecological clinics which were to be held at Withernsea which Humber produced a costing for and HEY decided they could not afford so the clinics were cancelled. Discussion took place around services which could be brought to General Practice.

5.Confidentiality Statement

JCAW - did everyone have a chance to look at the form?

CW - it is more focused and precise.

GK - would everyone be happy with signing it off?

The group agreed - Yes.

6.AOB

Online appointments were discussed - there have been a few issues with booking online. JCAW informed the group a new rota has been devised and therefore had to withdraw the online booking system for a short while. A message has been placed on the website informing patients.JCAW to discuss with person who is working on the new rota.

RW - Dr French retires on 31st March 2014. Is the surgery doing anything for him?

JCAW - we are in the process of organising a leaving party. You will be notified of the date once it has been confirmed.

GK - newsletter - GK showed the majority of the group the proposed newsletter prior to the start of the meeting it was agreed JCAW and GK to meet to finalise and publish. Everyone was happy with the format and JCAW thanked GK.

Dr French came to the meeting to present RW with a present and card from the Practice due to his ‘retirement’ as the PRG Chair. DR French said the Practice were extremely grateful to RW for 12 years hard and diligent work and his contribution to the Practice.

RW - thanks the Practice and group.
