101. How To Manage Conflict Among Youth
Understanding and realizing that conflict is part of life, this course points out the various scripture passages, narratives and real life issues confronting youth in the 21st century. Various principles will be given on how to facilitate issues in the lives of youth in the church. Youth leaders will learn various small group discussion methods that help students discuss conflict in a way pleasing to God.
102. Finding Millennials/Youth And Keeping Them In The Church
This course discusses various reasons why Millennials feel the way they do about church. Research statistics will be presented and discussed in detail. After discussing causes, the class will discuss solutions to the shift in both attendance and attitude concerning the traditional church.
103. Helping Youth Deal With Spiritual Issues
This course looks at the daily struggles of youth in today's society. It recognizes the challenges youth are confronted with in every aspect of life. The course will help the youth leader understand how to apply spiritual principles to the various youth behaviors/issues confronting our youth in the 21st century. Biblically guided behaviorrecommendation will be introduced to youth leaders to help guide youth in the proper direction.
104. Developing A Youth-Friendly Church In The 21st Century
This course will open the eyes and ears of youth leaders to be attentive to the overall culture of the traditional church. Leaders will discuss methods to evaluate,
assess, and measure the effectiveness of its overall church ministry. Every aspect of the church and its ministry should be youth friendly. It is important to involve youth in ministry if you want their participation. Leaders will leave with a wealth of ideas and knowledge to help make youth ministry more hospitable within the church.
105. Youth Training Starts At Home
This course deals with foundational and basic biblical family principles. Youth ministry is only as strong as the parental guidance. It is important that parents are taught to teach their children how to be respectful. A youth and parent-focused agenda and curriculum will be taught so that content-related material will be presented in the church to support strong families. The course will demonstrate how scripture along with social guidance can be used to help strengthen the entire community. The youth leader will learn how to incorporate youth-training principles into the overall ministry focus of the church.
106. Why Youth Like Jesus, But They Don’t Like The Church
This course will teach youth leaders how to evaluate the various ministries, programs, leadership and overall operation of the church and make the church more relevant to the present culture. It is important for youth leaders to help church members and leaders think and like Jesus and do ministry outside the box. Various scripture passages will be reviewed to help leaders see how Jesus built and developed relationship and broke traditions that stood in the way of reaching people. This course aim is to help the church act and think like Jesus.
107. Developing a Worship-Driven Youth Ministry (21)
The design of this course is to help young people understand how to develop a worship lifestyle. Discussion of discovering and applying spiritual gifts will assist youth advisors in guiding youth to be motivated for and involved in worship.
108. Creating Wholesome Outlets For Youth and Children
This course will familiarize the students with designing activities for the youth and children that are fulfilling but not “churchy.” Emphases are placed on strategizing with the class in helping the youth and children to be well-rounded individuals.
109. A Practical Spirituality for College and Young Adult Ministry
The aim of this course is to acquaint youth advisors with understanding the transition from adolescence to adulthood in the spiritual context. As young adults in today’s culture slowly drift away from the church due to an ever-changing society, it has become incumbent upon the church to address this demographic with a relevant approach that is rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
This class will seek to provide insight into key developmental issues that young adults face regularly including identity, intimacy and sexuality, morality, church involvement, and spiritual formation. We will seek to bridge the generational gap that exists in the church by providing a road map to spiritual growth and development by meeting young adults where they are and lifting them to where they belong in Jesus Christ!
110. Pure-N-Heart
This session is designed to help children and teen choir directors, youth pastors, Sunday School teachers and children’s church workers obtain effective and practical tools to help gain & maintain youth in their ministry. Some of the questions to be answered are: How can I build a strong team to reach my youth? Should my teens sing with my kids? Can kids lead worship? What songs should they sing? Should I compete with secular music? How do I keep them under control? How do I build commitment?
111. Insight: the Millennial Culture
This course will address the language, creative expression, and communication methods that millennial utilize in their culture. Youth leaders will learn to apply the various culture and relational tools that will help the church focus and learn the terminology and behavior that may be going on around them with Millennials.
112. Let’s Talk: Millennial Summit--YOUTH ONLY!
This summit will center on the basic understanding of ministering to teens, youths and Young Adults/Millennials. Topics will be developed by members of class and discussed among both leaders and individuals representing the various youth cultures. Discussion will also include ways to help develop a healthy understanding of youth and young adult culture. This course will be an interactive ROUNDTABLE discussion of those interested in meeting the needs of those representing the College/Young Adult/Teen/Millennial culture.
