SONOMA PINES COMMUNITY SERVICES COORDINATOR

Sonoma Pines is a unique community comprised of a total of 495 single and multi-family homes situated in West Kelowna, British Columbia and located on Westbank First Nation land.

Sonoma Pines Homeowners Management Ltd (SPHM Ltd) is responsible for the oversightof the community services operations on behalf of the homeowners.

SPHM Ltd. is currently seeking an individual to assist in the day-to-day operations of the community on a part-time basis. Reporting to the property manager, duties will include directingcommunity maintenance personnel, contractors, and interactingwith homeowners. This position will be the liaison between homeowners, community service providers, board members, contractors and will practice timely and efficient quality customer service.

This is a “hands on” position and the successful applicant will be provided with a unique environment in which to learn on-the-job by researching and employing “best practices” in property/asset management operations and assist in the development of relevant databases.

Key Qualifications:

The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in a professional mannerboth verbally and in writing. People skills are very important in this position.

  • Self-motivated, reliable and flexible – with the ability to “think on your feet”, the ability to problem solve and formulate resolutions;
  • Able to organize work priorities (based on requirements of the Board and Owners);
  • Ability to write and present reports, i.e. monthly Alteration Application Reports;
  • Attend meetings when required, i.e. monthly Board meetings; Maintenance Committee, etc.
  • Some computer skills would be an asset (MS Office Suite);
  • General knowledge and understanding of exterior/interior residential building maintenance and repairs, landscaping,irrigation and community infrastructure;
  • Experience in contract management, i.e. supervision, quality assurance, and approving contract payments;
  • Experience managing large properties would be an asset;
  • Property Management or Real Estate experience would be an asset.

This is a part-time contract of approximately 20 hours per week, weekdays withthe possibility ofreduced hours over fall and winter (dropping off to 5-10 hours weekly). There may be occasional emergency call outs at any time, including week-ends.
