Things to Remember:

  1. Please arrive at South Euclid – Lyndhurst Memorial Junior High at least one hour prior to performance time to allow for tuning and warm-up. Remember to bring your instrument, music, and whatever else you need for your performance.
  2. When you arrive, proceed to the homeroom. (Room 216) Mrs. Karriker will meet you upstairs in the homeroom. Please remain in the homeroom until approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled performance time or until Mrs. Karriker comes to get you.
  3. Proceed to the hallway outside of the judge’s room at least 10 minutes prior to your performance. (Room 102/103)
  4. Parents and family members are allowed in the judge’s room. Mrs. Karriker will also be in the room.
  5. Be sure to tune to the piano and acknowledge your pianist after you perform (Soloists).
  6. The judge will tell you when they are ready for you to begin.
  7. Audio/Video recording during the performance is not permitted! It is against OMEA Rules and Regulations.
  8. Once you are finished, you may leave or wait to find out your rating. Ratings will be posted in the cafeteria. Mrs. Karriker will bring all of the judge’s sheets to school on Monday 4/18/16.
  9. Students may purchase medals if they receive a superior or excellent rating. If a student would like to purchase a medal they must get their certificate from Mrs. Karriker before they go to purchase their medal.
  10. Students need to dress up for this event. You are being judged on your appearance as well. (Formal attire) Please do not chew gum. You do not have to wear our concert uniform but you may if you wish.
  11. Please call/text my cell phone if there are any problems or if you are running late.
  12. Cello/Bass Students – These students may elect to use our school cello or bass as long as they can transport the instrument to and from the event. Arrangements need to be made to take home the instrument on Friday after school and bring it back on Monday morning.
