Old Business

Water hazards – the Association has markers

Rock pile in lower section of the lake needs to be marked. Roy will take care of that. Swim buoys are illegal but we are not a legal authority.

Courtesy Boat Inspection Final Report S okokis is the only lake in Limerick not infected. This is still true today 7/4/15. Our grant is now only $1,900.

Labor Day Activities were a success. – Marshall Robbins reported. 3nd annual cornhole event was successful.

Website – Calece noted that the website is not the best place for pictures. She tries to update info. This is a resource for people looking for information about the lake.

Water Quality – Donna Nelson performed 10 tests for bacteria last year. Water quality was fine. She is using a new test kit. Testing for bacteria only.

Water Clarity - Calece tested about 10 times last year. Test read over 4 meters which is a good clarity for our lake. The less clarity we have the less weeds we have. We have a shallow lake and things look good.

Invasive Plant Inspection - August 6, 2015 a survey will be done of Sokokis Lake to see if there are any invasive plants. There will be teams of people going out on the lake. York County

Invasive Aquatic Species Project

Identify what is in front of your beach for weeds and know your weeds. Let Roy know if things change. We can send a suspect weed out for DNA testing.

Value of property on Lake Arrowhead has been reduced by 20% due to the milfoil infestation.

8/6/15 survey will be meeting at Frederickson's Beach. Anyone is welcome to join the survey in a kayak.

Water Level

If it rains 2 inches lake will go up. We have a positive relationship with the Town to raise and lower the dam. There has been significant rain within the last few weeks. Presently we are between 2 and 4 inches above the Red Line at the dam.

New Business

Boat Ramp Courtesy boat inspection 2015 Grant DEP and Town of Limerick

We got $1,900 grant for Lake Monitoring

We got a $3,000 Grant from the Town of Limerick. (first time)

Do we have to allow 24 hour access to the lake or can we limit times?

Yes. There was a discussion about the procedures at the boat ramp and the disposition of suspect weeds if found on boats at the ramp. Boat Ramp monitoring schedule: Friday night 4-8, Sat 7 am -8 am, Sun 8 am – 8 pm.

Any tiny piece of an invasive plant can cause an infestation.

Labor Day Activities – Corey LeBlanc – Chair – Kelly spoke on Corey's behalf. They are looking into new activities for those who don't play horsehoes. Looking for new volunteers for the Labor Day Activities.

Mike Farrell suggested 2 large signs for Carroll Lane and Watson Hill Rd. A full banner for the events.

Reserves-Improvements-Special Projects

Boat Ramp costs will be covered by the 2 grants. We may be able to look into other projects that need to be completed. Ideas have been tossed around. If you have an idea let your director or officer know.

It was asked what is the official level of the lake? The red line just below the concrete level in the second bay on the dam is what was approved as the ideal level.

Ski Team and Bottle Drive Funding – Calece

Ski team a little bit smaller. Meets July 11 at Cabral's Beach. It is open to the Town as well. You don't have to be there every week. Coach talked to the Rec Dept. Suggested that Calece go to the Selectman's Meeting and announce the Ski Team.

No specific date for Bottle Drive early to mid August. Jim Green offered his trailer (east Shore Drive) to drop off bottles.

IPP Invasive Plant PatrolWorkshop 7/30/15 in Springvale town Hall.

East Shore Drive Road Improvement

Don Diamond brought up issues with the condition of East Shore Drive. The President indicated that there is a way to work on this outside this association. Mary asked about a fundraiser and the President felt this was outside the association.

The road needs to be graded and made wider due to erosion from North Shore Road and the four–wheeler traffic.

Erosion is a concern of the SLA. A suggestion was made to form a Committee. There maybe some funds available from EPA.

River Cleaning – Roy & Tom will try to understand what is going on down there and be sure they are following the rules.

ATV Safety – parents need to be notified of kids driving ATV's. We have 15 mph speed signs.

Narrows – moving markers further out. Tom will look into this.

Boating close to shore – large wake is more erosive. Reminder low wake zone.

Loons - They are a natural resource. Respect them.
