New Business

Nickolas Engler – 10U Memorial Tournament/Memorial Plate – Nancy said she has been talking with Nickolas Engler’s parents (Nickolas was playing baseball for SAA and very sadly passed away at the beginning of the season) as they would like to have a Memorial of some kind at the Ham Lake City fields for Nickolas. Nancy has information from the City on what is acceptable for this but Tom Reiner said they will approve just about anything. Nancy would also like to name the 10U tournament this year the 10U Nickolas Engler Memorial Tournament and put that on the medals and trophies. The board agreed with both those ideas so Nancy will work with the Engler's on this.

Tournament Directors – Nancy said that the board needs to decide who will be the tournament directors for each of the upcoming in-house tournaments. 6U – Mike Laciskey will be the tournament director; 8U boys – Corinne will check if this will work for her otherwise we may have to hire someone for this weekend as no other board members are available; 8U girls will be ran by the traveling fastpitch group; 10U and older boys – Tom D. will be at Lion’s Park, Greg Z. will be at City Park and Derrell and Mike will help out also.

13U – Nancy will let the coaches know that we will host a tournament for their 5 teams on the July 27 weekend.

15U – Nancy will see if our 3 teams want to play each other and Corinne will call Blaine and see if they want to play in an end of year tournament with us to give more teams to play.

Committee Reports:

Concessions–Nelson – Nancy said that the cooler for pop and water at Booster has not been working and Alex has had to use coolers. She has found some new ones that are very expensive but Tom is still trying to find a used one. The board talked about allowing up to $2,000 to be spent for a new cooler at Booster; Mike L. made a motion to approve this, Greg Z. seconded, motion approved.

.

Umpires– Hensler – not present

In-house fastpitch–Cochran and Blonigen– Chris said they had the 8U tournament today and it was a little cold but everyone got their games in. Chris was surprised at how the fields held up in the rain this weekend. Tom’s crew from the City did a great job with those fields over there.

In-house baseball (Junior) –Zimmer and Bross –Greg Z. said there is a parent complaining there is a 10U boy on an 8U team so Greg will get the name to Nancy and she will check on the date of birth for that player.

In-house baseball (Senior) – Rajtar – Nancy read the email from Steve R. that the 15U tournament went well and that he and Brian will be going to the 17/19U meeting so they can start their season.

Traveling fastpitch –Vogel – Chris said traveling is up and running and he is taking care of any issues that come up and they are gearing up for the tournaments coming up in June and July.

Traveling baseball –Zimmer – nothing to report

Field/Game Scheduling – Cooper – not present

Equipment –Braden – no report

Treasurer –Laciskey – Mike shared financials with the board , we are at $6300 in donations and that is not with the donation from BYHA yet; Brian said equipment might go over just a little because he just had to order some more baseballs, Chris is trying to be very frugal with equipment buying for traveling he said; we have more in field maintenance and most of that should be in field improvements so Nancy will make that change; we have uniform expense that doesn’t match up with uniform income for fastpitch and Chris will talk to Craig (fastpitch treasurer) about if he has to deposit that yet; we are well under budget for in-house uniforms mostly because we lost some of the in-house fastpitch teams to traveling and they purchase their own uniforms; we are doing great overall financially according to Mike.

Fundraising –Stone – Mike Stone thanked Nancy and Corinne for helping him with SAA Season Kick-Off Party we had in April; he talked to Route 65 and they had a fantastic night in sales so they are more than happy to do it again for us next year; Corinne asked if we can talk to Suzanne Slawson earlier this year to see if we can do the raffle so if we give her a heads up now we might be able to be the one organization that they allow to do that.

Tournament Ball – Laciskey – teams have their uniforms and the 13U played in a tournament in Cottage Grove so they were very happy to go to that tournament

Town Ball –Braden – Brian said that Terry should be giving Nancy registration money for their team so her and Brian will communicate with Terry on that.

Uniforms–Singh – Derrell is happy to be under budget on the uniforms. We will still have to pay for the screening of the names on them but that should be about $2,000 only.

Photos–Nelson – Nancy reported that the in-house had their two photo sessions and it went great. Corinne’s traveling team has already received their pictures and she said they look good.

Operations Manager Report –N. Nelson

Tax Return Done – Nancy gave information on the tax return to Mike L. (treasurer) so he will review it and have it at the next meeting to approve.

Old Business –

BYHA –the board ok’ed us to send out an email for BYHA on a fundraiser they are doing.
