  • E=Events – Adding Value for Non Attendees – Larry Bonfante. Bev asked that we send out a “call to arms” to whole chapter to let membership know that we could use assistance on the following initiatives. Larry asked for help to create the marketing message.

  • Re-energizing Marketing & Communication – Peter Schay

1. Web Site Overhaul – compelling content is needed.

2. Marketing/Messaging – Let Peter and/or Larry know ifyou are interested in

participating in any redesignwork.

  • Expanding Mentoring Program – Greg Fell volunteered to put together a structure for our mentoring program. We would like to have six or seven mentors from our membership.

  • 2009 Events:
  • Feb – Gartner CIO Group – CIO/CXO – “what’s next”? We need a Facilitator and Greg Fell volunteeredon Feb 12th at Greenwich Hyatt
  • March 11, 2009 - CIO Summit with Hunter Muller, HMG. Hunter was excused from the meeting. A vote was taken as to whether to participate as a SIM Chapter in this event. Attendance is open to Board Members and CIO/IT leaders of companies greater than $100 million in size. After discussion, motion was passed.
  • April – Co-Sponsor CIO Magazine Event w/NJSIM in NYC (in lieu of the Tri-State CIO Summit) – Mike Pellegrino - Volunteers are needed to work on this event. A majority agreed that we should participate in this event.
  • May – at l’eseale, 500 Steamboat Rd., Greenwich
  • June – at Stamford Yacht Club
  • Fall – FWSIM CIO Forum 10/27/09 at the Sheraton – Larry Bonfante

Topics – eDiscovery to be in program. Discussion on attracting/creating a

program on business topics such as the impact on broadbandrelative to economic growth, a focus on spinoffs, etc. Also, discussed bring in Congressman Jim Himes or Congresswoman Nita Lowey.

The following prospective members were discussed and approved for membership: Lawrence Lanzilli and Adam Adelkopf. Subsequently via email vote, the following prospective members were approved for membership: Sean Jacobs, Robert Anderson, Richard Williams, Silvio Balzano and Filipe Carreira.

Rhona reported a total of 217 members as we begin the New Year.A discussion was conducted on a member with behavior opposed to our code of ethics. What procedures should we follow to address this issue? Guidelines were discussed and agreed to by Board members. Also, we discussed if want to consider people in transition.

  • Programs – Hunter Muller

The Program Committee consists of Bev, Yvonne, Ed, and Jeff. Please pass on any program ideas to them. Our program for February is set but March is open.

  • Treasurer’s Report – Christopher Bernard

The total net worth of the Chapter at this time is approximately $93,000.

There were 72 pre-registered attendees for tonight’s meeting.

The next meeting will be held on February 12th at the Greenwich Hyatt.

Motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 pm.
