Congratulations on choosing to enter the Warrior Challenge Programs. You should be commended for actually choosing your future, but just seeing your vision isn’t enough to get to the finish line. It will be difficult, probably much harder than you think, however you can get there.

Success at any endeavor requires an understanding of what it is that you want, why you want it and what you are willing to do to get it. That starts NOW!

The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday

Entry into the NSW/NSO/AIRR DEP Process

MEPs:

  • Confirm with the classifier you are qualified for your program.
  • Make sure you have a ship date at least 6 months in the future.
  • Confirm you have all documents required from the classifier before you leave MEPs.

Recruiter:

  • Let your recruiter know your choice of NSW/NSO/AIRR program.

Mentor/Coordinator/Scout:

  • Contact the Scout as soon as possible.
  • Call the Mentor and Coordinator, and introduce yourself.
  • Have all your questions ready to ask the NSW/NSO/AIRR Team.

Steps you need to take

  • You will need to know three swim strokes. Side-stroke, breast-stroke and freestyle. Be able to do 25 push-ups, 25 sit-ups, 6 pull-ups for male and 2 pull-ups for female. Run a mile and a half without stopping to proceed.
  • Contact the Mentor and Coordinator ASAP!
  • Go to and read the entire web-site.
  • In the web-site, go to “DEP Required Documents”, it is found on the main page, read the page. Do the essay that is required, the essay will be sent to the Mentor within one week, via email in a word.doc. Then, down load all documents on that page, you will fill them out completely and have a copy of each document for the Mentor.
  • Download the “Warrior Challenge Mental Toughness Workbook” read it, and start filling it out.
  • At the beginning of every month, you will check on the homepage of the web-site, “Ploussard Schedule” for time and place for Physical Training (PT) and Physical Screening Test (PST).
  • If you can’t make a PST or PT, you will notify the Mentor of the reason you can’t make it, and then re-schedule.
