South Western Gymnastics Club (Cranleigh)

News Sheet April 2010

Tel No – 01372 200564

Dates and Fees for next term– We return on 21st and 22nd April and carry on through to the 21st and 22nd July. We will break for half term on 2nd and 3rd June. There will be 13 weeks of gymnastics and Trampolining next term.

Minor changes to Wednesday class times–It has been decided that the 4.45 class on a Wednesday will now only be 1 hour and 45 minutes long, rather than 2 hours. The decision to shorten the class length has been made to make it easier to persuade the children who train for just over an hour to make the step up. We feel this is in the best interests of the clubs development. Any children who still wish to do more than 1 hour 45 minutes have the option of doing another hour on another day where we will reserve a place.

New times in Bold -

4.00pm – 4.45pm The same

4.45pm – 6.45pm Now 4.45pm – 6.30pm (New invoices being sent)

6.45pm – 7.45pm Now 6.30pm – 7.30pm

7.45pm – 8.45pm Now 7.30pm – 8.30pm

Changes to staff – As some of you are aware Melanie has left SWGC. Melanie has been at the club for many years, and was part of the team that helped the club reach the standard of gymnastics we see today. So it is with sadness that she moves on. I’m sure you will all join me in wishing Melanie all the best for the future.

Some very interesting developments are taking place with regards to a replacement. I can not let you know anything more definitive at this time because talks are still ongoing. I will endeavour to keep you updated on this matter.

We also now have a new permanent administrator who some of you may have met at the competition. Her appointment will help in the efficiency of the running of the club. Now that she is fully up to date with all club happenings you should notice a huge improvement in service.

Costings - There will be 13 weeks of gymnastics and Trampolining next term. The following tabulation outlines the costs. Parents should have already received their invoices for next term with deductions for snow days and power cuts.

Total for the term

45 minute class / £5 x 13wks / £65
1 hour class / £6 x 13 wks / £78
1 hour 10 minute class / £6.75 x 13wks / £87.75
1 hour 45 minute class / £9.25 x 13wks / £120.25
2 hour sessions / £10.50 x 13wks / £136.50

Please see the website for discounts for more than 1 session/child

Method of payment – If you would like to pay directly into the club account, through internet/telephone banking, then please use the sort code 30 93 08 and account number 01253583. The account name is South Western Gym Club. Please put your child’s surname as reference. Cheques payable to SWGC. Please send to SWGC, 16 Christchurch Road, Epsom, Surrey. KT19 8NE

Late payment penalties - Parents must pay on the first day back. Parents that haven’t paid by the 3rd week will incur a £5 penalty for each additional week.

Customer care by email - We hope you are all ok with the service we have been offering by email. We hope to have a face to face service ready for the start of 2011 where coaches are expected to answer your questions in the gym. Until that time we are making sure coaches are aware of their duties in the gym first and foremost. Therefore we appreciate it if as many questions as possible are directed through email for myself, or our administrator, to answer. We hope this doesn’t tarnish the friendly reputation our club has built up, as we do love seeing you all. This move is aimed at sending all the children away happy at the end of each of the sessions, rather than the parents themselves.

Badge work - There has only been one week of badge work this term. Please assure your children that they have been making progress, but it is unfortunate that this term has been interrupted by competitions, snow and power cuts!

Speed limit in Glebelands – We have had a number of complaints from parents bringing children to the gym that the speed limit is not being observed at the school. Please be aware that Glebelands has a 5mp/h speed limit and special care should be taken when approaching the playground. Please help us keep the children safe by paying special attention to this.

From all at South Western we hope you have a lovely Easter Break
