STUDENT REVIEW: CLASS DATE

Dear Student

During this period I will be doing an observation of the lesson and providing your teacher with some feedback on how the lesson went. The report covers such things as: did the lesson start on time, were there sufficient resources, was the content pitched at the right level, were the students engaged, did the lesson finish on time etc. The whole aim of this exercise is to improve your teacher’s skills for the benefit of all students, including YOU!

I have chosen you randomly and I would like you to provide some feedback ON THIS LESSON ONLY. The teacher will have planned and delivered this lesson with the class in mind. How effective do you think the lesson was?

Basically, the teacher has to create a suitable environment where teaching (the teacher’s job) and learning (the pupils’ job, your job!) can happen successfully, and then teach the lesson effectively.

Please write down your observations, comments, and helpful suggestions on TODAY’S lesson. Throughout the lesson ask yourself “What is the teacher doing TODAY to help the class and me learn?” then write down your comments.

Feel free to comment on the good things you see happening and also things that you would want changed/improved.

Please carry out this task sensibly and do not discuss what you are doing with your friends during class (I want your views, and discussion will disrupt the lesson!). Use both sides of this sheet if you need to.

You may if you wish write your name in the space below. This is NOT compulsory… but would be helpful!

Thank you for your comments, which will be read by the teacher of this lesson and me.
